It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the closure of http://Romhacking.net . it has been wonderful 12 years.

We would like to thank everyone that helped make http://Romhacking.net a truly welcoming and creative community over the last 12 years.

The site Romhacking.net, for those unfamiliar, is a very popular hosting site of the many fan translation, romhacks, and tools and utilities to modify different games and other emulation tools that have become a huge part of that corner of the hobby. It was a pretty invaluable tool for anyone who wanted to edit games, translate, or any other such projects, to get the project out there, host it, as well meet other people who could help, either by hopping on bigger projects or translating.

Well i'm sure many of the big translations and hacks will be plenty shared and i can't imagine much being lost, its certainly going to make it a lot harder to find, and it certainly leaves a big hole.

Well the cause is still uncertain, it they did report on a prolonged outage earlier today, its unsure if they lost a back-up and have just lost things, or if something like a cease and desist or something happened in the background.
