This season's theme is "Big."

History Channel ordered eight episodes for this season.

History Channel PR said:
Talent set to appear on Top Gear for the "Big Star Small Car" segments includes: Ed Burns, Lake Bell, John Huertas, Joe Montegna, Stephen Moyer, Kal Penn and Patrick Warburton.

In eight new episodes, Tanner, Adam and Rutledge push the envelope even further with crazier challenges, bigger stunts, faster cars and plenty of high jinks. They set out to master Big Rig driving and deliver dangerous cargo across Michigan with explosive results; transport unsuspecting celebrities to the Primetime Emmy Awards in homemade one-of-a-kind limousines; and compete over who has chosen the perfect convertible supercar for a mystery billionaire celebrity client, on a road trip to New York City. The hosts also crown the best modern muscle car, America's most dangerous car and the worst vehicle in the country. In a nod to the past the hosts attempt to conquer the Rocky Mountains on a pioneer trail in the modern day version of the covered wagon - soccer mom vans.

This Season's Past Episodes:

Big Rigs
Premiere Date: 02/14/2012

Rutledge, Adam and Tanner decide that driving Big Rigs can't be as difficult as everyone says, and to prove it, set themselves the challenge of delivering tons of precious (and explosive) cargo across Michigan after only a few hours practice. What could possibly go wrong?

Muscle Cars
Premiere Date: 02/21/2012

Which is the best modern muscle car? Adam, Rutledge and Tanner fight it out on the way to a high speed attempt at a NASCAR track, and Rutledge takes Tanner into the Utah desert to prove how fast their new mustangs are in a relay race against horses.

Dangerous Cars
Premier Date: 02/28/2012

Cars reputed to be dangerous are spotlighted. The hosts put the vehicles, a Ford Pinto, a Chevrolet Corvair, and a Suzuki Samurai, through various challenges, including a demolition derby. Fat Tony guests, and Rutledge tries to teach Adam that it's possible to drive a car without breaking it by getting him behind the wheel of one of the quickest, most dangerous vehicles around.

Minivans
Premier Date: 03/06/2012

The guys take convert three minivans into modern covered wagons, and travel a Wild West trail across the Rockies.

Supercars
Premiere Date: 03/13/2012

The hosts have each been asked to choose what they think is the perfect high-end convertible by an anonymous celebrity buyer. On the way to meet them, they put the cars through a series of challenges which hint at the celebrity's identity.

Limos
The guys decide it's time to get some of the glamour back by building their own limousine.

This Week:

Rutledge's Show
Rutledge enters a championship race, becomes an inventor, almost kills Adam and tries out as a designated driver on the late night streets of San Francisco.

Last season was much better than last season of the UK version. It's really developing well.

Edit: My only issue is they rely very heavily on the "Lets build some crazy project cars and do challenges"-shtick. It's still good, but I hope they can throw more variety in this season. They need to start actually reviewing cars and giving their opinions on them, damn the advertisers.

I'll have to see how they handle the Semi stuff tonight, from the preview I saw a few nights back it looked like they might have directly copied the UK stuff :|

But yes, I thought that the US stuff from season 2 was better than the most recent season (not the current one) of the UK stuff.

This season of TG UK is a return to form. Probably the most enjoyable in years for me. Chinese Stig is awesome.

I almost forgot about this starting up.

I actually bumped into Rutledge Wood at Toys R Us a couple of days ago and gave me a heads up.

That was the best past of the last Top Gear UK. >:p

I posted this in the other thread. While watching this I was like.....haven't I seen this before? And I realized, I have, Top Gear UK did it years back. UK's was better done though, common a trailer on fire and they crushed May's piano that was held up with a stack of pornos.

I watched an episode and it amused me a lot. Will probably watch this along with the UK version.

Each to his own.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
I thought it was hysterical. The fireworks were brilliant.

Someone said Top Gear UK did this? I don't recall that at all...

Quality episode, well apart from the quality. As usual it looked like absolute shit. Seriously US and A, drop the shitty MPEG2 encoding for your HD stuff already.

It just makes everything look like garbage.

Hey guys:

The OP is still a WIP...so if you have any additional scheduling/channel info, (still trying to find out if this is going to be on BBC3 and, if so, when, for example,) interesting links, ect... lemme know either here in the thread, or better yet via PM, and I'll stick it in there.

Thanks!
