Discotheque 07-17-2017 02:31 PM

"We were being hunted"

nice remix of that vangelis track. its really not blade runner without some of those compositions returning, I hope Johannson does it.

this movie looks fucking flames

Dizzy-4U 07-17-2017 02:31 PM

Oh nice, they are doing the intro that was supposed to be in the original.

dc89 07-17-2017 02:32 PM

The mood. The music.

santi_yo 07-17-2017 02:33 PM

Looks and sounds incredible, that's for sure.

kami_sama 07-17-2017 02:34 PM

God damn, that looks great.
I need to see it, now!
The music tho, hnnnng

Real Hero 07-17-2017 02:35 PM
Oh nice, they are doing the intro that was supposed to be in the original.
yeah I caught that, pretty cool

theWB27 07-17-2017 02:35 PM

Did the original tell us what city they were in?

Inferno313 07-17-2017 02:35 PM

This movie continues to look fucking fantastic. Can't wait.
Did the original tell us what city they were in?
Los Angeles, 2019.

fastford58 07-17-2017 02:36 PM

Better than the first trailer. I'm still not convinced this movie had to be made, though.

JB1981 07-17-2017 02:37 PM

Ehhhhhhh looks alright

True Savior 07-17-2017 02:37 PM

How funny would it be if Fassbender appeared somewhere in the movie?

theWB27 07-17-2017 02:38 PM
This movie continues to look fucking fantastic. Can't wait.

Los Angeles, 2019.
I missed that somehow. This and valerian will be some serious eye candy.

metalslimer 07-17-2017 02:39 PM

The look of this movie is perfect

Corpsepyre 07-17-2017 02:39 PM

I'm sure it'll look GOOD, but not like it'll be the next best thing visually. Already looking a lot like the films we've seen over the years. Interested more in the story.

Inferno313 07-17-2017 02:40 PM
Better than the first trailer. I'm still not convinced this movie had to be made, though.
That's a pretty big bar to clear. Do we ask that every movie be one that has to be made?

I think there are very few films that hit that criteria, and most of them are hard-hitting docs like Citizenfour.

itwasTuesday 07-17-2017 02:40 PM

Carpenter plus Vangelis. Sounds like, maybe.

iPaul93 07-17-2017 02:40 PM

This was way better than the first trailer.

BocoDragon 07-17-2017 02:40 PM

Everything about this is clever and authentic to the source.

But it gives me Tron Legacy vibes in that sense.

Hopefully it can deliver deeper satisfaction and become a work of art in its own right.

RS4- 07-17-2017 02:40 PM

...wow. Fuck me.

Dat Lennie James.

Discotheque 07-17-2017 02:43 PM
How funny would it be if Fassbender appeared somewhere in the movie?
lmao. I wouldn't put it past Scott to want that but plz no. lets just hope his influence on the story wasn't too large.

gun_haver 07-17-2017 02:45 PM

Haha, the music sounds like Deus Ex 3+4's trailers. Not really a bad thing but it's funny to see things come back and be influenced by things which were influenced by them in the first place.

Looks kind of actiony, though. I know Blade Runner is kind of divisive because of just how slow and ambient it is most of the time, but I hope they find time for that atmosphere in amongst all of the WE WERE BEING HUNTED ARREHFIFGGHSSFDF*MASSIVE TANK FIRE EVERYONE RUNNING* antics.

Window 07-17-2017 02:46 PM

Looks great. Not feeling Leto's dialogue though. Feels like they're trying to channel Tyrell but it's just not working.

Fancy Clown 07-17-2017 02:46 PM

Just slather that deakins cinematography all over me

Anung 07-17-2017 02:48 PM

I feel like I'm broken because the trailers aren't doing much for me. The cinematography and music is damn good though.

Chained Prometheus 07-17-2017 02:50 PM
Just slather that deakins cinematography all over me
Yeah, no kidding. Looks like Deakins went full HAM for this movie. Can't wait to see it on the big screen in October!
I know folks have been speculating this for awhile now, but damn, it really does seem like Gosling is probably going to be Deckard and Rachel's son, huh?
Dizzy-4U 07-17-2017 02:50 PM
"We were being hunted"
He fled with Rachel so it would seem logical that Bryant sent people to hunt them down.

I know what you mean though :p

Are you saying Harrison Ford is going to be in Alien 14?
Hunting david

Captain Skeleton 07-17-2017 02:51 PM

Holy fucking shit does that look incredible.

theWB27 07-17-2017 02:51 PM

I'm interested in more cyberpunk worlds like this....what are some of those? Honest question.

admiraltaftbar 07-17-2017 02:52 PM

The whole look of this film kind of looks like it is borrowing from movies/games that borrowed their entire aesthetic from Blade Runner. The visuals are done pretty well but I still have the nagging feeling that this will end up being a movie heavily inspired by the original rather than seeming like a direct sequel.

That be said, Mad Max Fury Road was a similar situation and that movie is excellent so I'd love for some solid cyberpunk sci-fi.

Z3M0G 07-17-2017 02:54 PM

What? We are only on the 3nd trailer? I though I've seen 2 or 3 already...

Edit: Ok, that trailer promises one hell of a story twist... it better live up to it.

Lima 07-17-2017 02:55 PM

My god Ana de Armas is so insanely beautiful. Whew lad.

Saganator 07-17-2017 02:55 PM

Ahh omg I can't wait. Just let me sleep until it's out.

Nightfall 07-17-2017 02:57 PM

I need to get home and see this on my TV asap!

I went from "I never want this film to be made" to full on "OMG I NEED THIS NOW!" hype mode.

Corpsepyre 07-17-2017 02:58 PM
I'm interested in more cyberpunk worlds like this....what are some of those? Honest question.
Check out Dark City and Strange Days if you haven't. Also look up Total Recall remake, if you want a similar-looking world.

BrokenFiction 07-17-2017 02:59 PM

Gosh just give it to me now!

HStallion 07-17-2017 02:59 PM
Are you saying Harrison Ford is going to be in Alien 14?
Harrison Ford is the xenomorph.

Covenant starts with an eye, this trailer starts with an eye, Blade Runner starts with an eye. I'm sure old man Ridley would love to do it.
Are you saying Harrison Ford is going to be in Alien 14?
And he is Ripley's father.

That's how it's going to be. I don't think we will be seeing a new leap here. Trailers don't show that atleast. I'm sure it'll be a striking film, but nothing that we haven't seen before. The original was just way ahead of its time and defined that cyberpunk look we know.

moggio 07-17-2017 03:04 PM

Did all the good cinematographers die?

I think they probably did.

Also I didn't know Jared Leto was in this.

I can't wait to see him trying hard to do acting.

QuantumZebra 07-17-2017 03:04 PM

A sequel to my favorite film of all time with my mancrush as the lead and original mancrush coming back

<3 *swoon*

Looks amazing

Leto may be a douchenozzle but he's a solid actor

Busty 07-17-2017 03:06 PM

I continue to have serious reservations about this but I'm into it.

Also a nice use of Dave Batista.

What the hell is this? Deakins is one of the best cinematographers working today.

Jared Leto had some good roles and did terrific acting outside of his misstep as the Joker in Suicide Sqaud.

Tankard 07-17-2017 03:07 PM

We were being hunted, huh?

Nice, nice.

Deakins isn't a good cinematographer and Leto can't act....all in one post. whew.

Believe it or not the Ghost in the Shell Live action Movie looks stunning visually.
Believe it or not the Ghost in the Shell Live action Movie visually looks stunning.
Agreed. It's a legitimate entry in the "new cyberpunk", regardless of the difficult politics surrounding anime adaptations, whitewashing, etc.
