What on earth is Monado? I've never heard of that game
Pre-release title of Xenoblade. By some miracle "Monado" is still announced for US release (even if it doesn't imply an actual Xenoblade release), and that fact lets this fan campaign happen. You can't usually pre-order a game that isn't really announced. |
Well done to everyone involved in the campaign, it's good to see a properly organised effort to show a company money on the table rather than those useless online petitions.
If I could showcase to Scamco, and Natsume that I'd be willing to pay for .hack//LINK, and Medabots DS, I would. But alas, games that are never announced for US release don't get a Amazon page. |
^^^The original name for Xenoblade. NoA still uses it for some odd reason
By the way, here are two screencaps: It's very beautiful to see. |
Well I did my part for Xenoblade. While I'd like Xenoblade and The Last Story to get localized, I'd rather Disaster: Day of Crisis, Takt of Magic, and/or Zangeki no Reginleiv get localized instead of Pandora's Tower.
I'd rather have all of them. It shouldn't even be a question of what, the system badly needs more games, especially of this variety. At least send it out with a bang. What do they have to gain in starving it to death when this is part of the audience they want to recaputre with the Weeoo? Anyhow, I pre-ordered as well. I don't like that it's 60 as a placeholder, and I kind of hope it doesn't come out right on top of Disgaea 4 like the EU one is, but I really want this game and this is, very sadly, apparently the only way to get noticed by these jackoffs. |

And for some reason it's called Xenoblade Chronicles in Europe. |
There's occasions where I love the internet and the RPG fan base. This kind of internet campaign obviously worked at least to a point with Tales of Graces and Tales of Abyss 3D, so I can't see why it couldn't work on Nintendo.
Keep up that intensity people. I really do hope all the people who preorded Monado actually follow through with buying it. I will probably end up picking it up at Kmart because of the miracles Josh works over on CAG, but went ahead with the preorder anyway to show demand. Will be writing the letters I think as well, but I need more information on that as to when to send them out. It's going to be hard to coordinate 50 different states mail time so everything arrives on the same day. Doubt that's actually even really possible. |
I was ready to come in here and say that these sorts of campaigns are useless, but I have to admit I'm impressed that it's the #1 video game on Amazon right now.
Will be interesting to see if there is any reaction from NoA. |
This is so sad, fuck you Nintendo!
preordered.
|
Too early to celebrate. Gotta keep the momentum going.
Indeed. I wish I could assist in this noble cause, but being in Europe means the best I can do is add to the EU sales figures. |

There's no reason to celebrate until we have an affirmative response from Nintendo on all of these titles.
|

I kind of figure that's actually the best shot at it coming here, would NoA STILL blow it off if it managed to be a minor hit in Europe at the least? Even Disaster I recall hearing something about its chances of being brought to the US depended on sales in Europe (and that went on sale way too quickly to have succeeded). |
Indeed. I wish I could assist in this noble cause, but being in Europe means the best I can do is add to the EU sales figures.
The game doing well in Europe would surely help, so good on you. |
At this point.. the very least they should do is a limited release through Nintendo.com and, of course, Amazon.
They did it for Electroplankton! |
I'd like all of them, too, it's just people seem to be forgetting about Disaster: Day of Crisis, Takt of Magic, and Zangeki no Reginleiv.
A lot of us want those games (how dare you not include Captain Rainbow or Fatal Frame 4!) but the pair of RPGs are much more current. Getting NoA to release them seems merely impossible, as opposed to getting them to backpedal on something like Disaster, which seems absurdly impossible. |
Does it cost me anything to preorder on amazon?
|
Indeed. I wish I could assist in this noble cause, but being in Europe means the best I can do is add to the EU sales figures.
You can still bitch and moan on twitter and facebook. Spread the word on other forums. Tell your friends about it, etc. I'm actually not that interested in Xenoblade, but I'm doing my part to help. |
Does it cost me anything to preorder on amazon?
Not until the game ships. |
I'd like all of them, too, it's just people seem to be forgetting about Disaster: Day of Crisis, Takt of Magic, and Zangeki no Reginleiv.
Disaster in particular deserves a release. Since it already HAS a Euro translation and all. Sadly, not everyone wants to get behind it as much as Pandora's Tower/The Last Story/Xenoblade. ;( |
Does it cost me anything to preorder on amazon?
Nope, you don't get charged until it comes out. If you don't plan on buying the game, though, then don't pre-order. |
oh well in that case I will come to your aid JRPG fans!
|
oh well in that case I will come to your aid JRPG fans!
cheers! |
oh well in that case I will come to your aid JRPG fans!
One thing, please don't pre-order unless you are actually planning on buying the game. We don't want this to be all empty promises. |
Trying to get Siliconera to spread the word, heaven knows they're niche game city.
|
Xenoblade really needs an awareness thread. So many Wii owners and JRPG fans haven't heard of the game :/
|
Man, I wish I could help out, but Amazon refuses to ship it to Canada (and Amazon.ca sucks). I guess they don't sell certain preorders and games to Canadian customers (since sometimes I'm able to order some stuff there).
I left a comment on their Facebook page yesterday, though. I'd very much appreciate Pandora + Last Story + Xenoblade + Zangeki no Reginleiv + Fire Emblem: Shin Monshō no Nazo ~Hikari to Kage no Eiyū~ + Fatal Frame 4 + Soma Bringer, though. But Monado/Xenoblade is a start! |
I've tried to get Game Informer's main site to display the story, but the blog I posted a little bit ago is still getting a fair amount of views.

It just occured to me that Nintendo doesn't even know what the internet is and how it works. Someone has to print this thread out and fax it to Reggie.

Actually, we are kind of doing that. They're organizing a large snail mail campaign as well. |
Well I did my part. Pre-ordered from Amazon. Please please pleaaaase come over!
|
I'm so happy that this is a thing. Keep it up guys and gals.
|
I'm considering literally printing this off and adding it to my letter. It's not that bad of an idea, actually.
|
It's very beautiful to see.
Everyone in support of Xenoblade has great taste. |
So crazy. It's fucking ahead of Kinect and Ocarina of Time 3D. What more proof do they need? The money is on the god damn table.
|
Everyone in support of Xenoblade has great taste.
But of course. |
For what it's worth, one of the comment threads on NoA's Facebook page now has 2000+ posts of whine and cheese.
|
We need to start working on getting #Xenoblade a trending topic on Twitter.
This would help turn a lot of heads. |
Actually, we are kind of doing that.
They're organizing a large snail mail campaign as well.
Can I recommend that the campaign not include anything cute like mailing in swords or bananas or peach pits. It doesn't work and mostly just pisses people off after a while. Money is the only currency that matters, so the Amazon thing is pretty smart. Spamming Facebook and making the execs lives hell by sending in some kitschy shit does not help your cause. |
Did my part, pre-order in!
|
It's kind of annoying that the game has two (technically three) names.
We can't change what Amazon has listed...maybe it should be referred to as Monado elsewhere? Not sure. |

Now we just pray they get approved and reach the front page. |
I hope the effort doesn't go to waste because it's weekend and NoA is currently even more stoic than usual.
We need to start working on getting #Xenoblade a trending topic on Twitter.
I though the threshold for something like that was insanely high?
Exactly the point, though. Which is why it becomes such a great marketing tool. |
I though the threshold for something like that was insanely high?
It probably needs millions, but we can try anyway. |
I really want Reginleiv the most out of all those, but I've never played a console JRPG before ever since they've gone 3D, so I may be interested in Xenoblade too. Posted on Facebook and Youtube but the rest aren't really possible.
Should we actually threat them with boycott or something? Because I'm seeing a lot of people doing that on Facebook. |

Gotcha. Also Eurogamer has a story on this now as well. On their front page. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-06-24-fans-spam-nintendo-for-last-story-release-article |

Their twitter is being updated. More specifically, the poor sap tasked with running it is still active, probably wondering 'oh god what do i say'. |

I wouldn't rely on a boycott after seeing how MW2's Steam group turned out. Granted it's not the same game or even audience, but I don't doubt most of them would buckle for Skyward Sword anyway. |
