I've tried doing snaking just for the sake of it, it didn't work. It's sure to be some trick involving the shrooms.

They're blue sparks. Not a full miniturbo. MKDS was red sparks.

Well it does flash white and a mushroom is gone as it skips 5 seconds ahead. Either way, even if it's possible, blue is not nearly as bad as red, and it seems more dependent on width of the track, in DS you could get good enough to do it anywhere on any track with a bigger boost.

Even if they do snake in this game, they won't really get that far on blue sparks.

Well, he is snaking. But I don't see where he could pull this off besides Luigis Raceway, which has a straight and wide track as no other course in the game... He has to use the full breadth of the street to keep it coming...

Especially with the new shortcuts and stuff, Snaking doesn't really matter when some random can just take that one shortcut you forgot about and completely ruin whatever small advantage snaking gave you.

Hopefully people are right that it's only possible to do on the one course.

Snaking isn't that hard to do, you could do it in [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7OID3wGOh4]Double Dash[/url] and some lifeless script kiddies hacked it into Mario Kart Wii. Most of the shortcuts by the looks of it are narrow, high risk, high reward shortcuts. Most of the courses also look Anti-Snaking with trick ramps, piranha plants and goombas everywhere.

I don't have the game yet, but it's probably like Akimbo said above. It looks like you need a REALLY wide and straight track, I doubt it's even possible to do it on most of them.

Seems like the only place on that track you'd be able to do it is at the tunnel. Just get near a snaker and make it impossible for them to start the momentum :P

Played too many people snaking to victory on the DS, sad to see it's back, but happy to know it's more difficult to pull off.

Snaking debates killed the MKDS threads at ole 1up, not to mention how badly snaking ruined the games enjoyment.

Namco have managed to create two fairly fun Mario Kart arcade games that feel different yet mildly familiar.

Okay the Nintendo well is poluted by the inclusion of FILTHY NAMCO MASCOTS, but there's changes that could be made.

[B]That said[/B] - i *and i assume others* know what they are getting into when they buy Mario Kart. Expecting anything other than minor step upgrades surely is long beyond everyones expectation. Haven't tried on line (which i hear is very good) so at the moment it's a great looking version of Mario Kart on the go. Which really is pretty much all people expected, anything else is a bonus.

I'd like to see the game speed up a bit or at least have a much faster version just to see how it pans out. But it's not a biggie as expectation was correctly set before entry.
