Community is nowhere near as good as just doing normal Worldwide games, at least with the latter you can leave after you have had enough, with Community, you have to do a stupid GP, even when you have been 1st in 2 races, only to come bottom 2 after being blasted by people who were at the back of the pack. Stupid.

I got gold on all cups in 150cc. Feels good mang. Also played a shitload of online, which is great. But I hate to be right about one thing: no single-player Versus sucks. They were under quite some time pressure. Which explains some of the things they left out like leaderboards, proper ghost downloads, replay viewing and challenges.

It's a good Mario Kart but not the most complete.

The spotpass ghost data thing is more encouraging than I thought it would be. Beating seven ghosts at once is pretty nice.

Just happened to me too. One race and then disconnected. I'm so tired of seeing "A communication error has occurred". I forwarded the port someone mentioned earlier. This is the only game I'm having this issue with.

What's a good kart combo for high acceleration, decent speed, very good off-road, yet also decent handling? I don't have all the kart parts unlocked yet, but I want to know what combo would be good for me once I do unlock them all. I like lighter characters that have high acceleration, but I also like having good off-road so I can take shortcuts without being slowed down too much. I never really payed much attention to stats in previous Mario Kart games, so it's all kinda overwhelming to me, lol.

Here's a tip for people that want to learn the tracks and be competetive online. Do the time trials and race against the ghost from the dev. This will show you how to ace tracks.

Any trick to getting slipstreams? I used to be able to get them often in MKWii, but I feel like I'm losing a fair few community races since everyone drives past like I'm standing still but my slipstreams break really easily.

That was possibly my worst race ever. Kept running into walls and stray bananas everywhere.

The wins are how many people you beat during a race, and loses is how many people you were behind of.

I actually went and beat it easily when I removed the slick wheels off my kart, which I found odd as slick wheels give a lot of speed but the crap handling and possibly the rain on the track itself seemed to hinder more than just standard turning.
Methinks I gave it to much credit, it was kicking my ass at first though leading me to wonder if ice and rain affect certain wheel types more, does the off road stat factor into this as well?

I always prefer to wait for at least six, because over the course of a Grand Prix, you'll always drop a couple.

I hope it doesnt make the game unplayable when the game becomes a million seller. I get quite a bit lag when its 6 people and up.

I'd actually prefer the Blue Shells to be as frequent as the Wii version, because front runners do have it pretty easy while the middle of the pack annihilates them.

I believe that may be the case yes. I have gotten the orange flashing light when I am in other games and apps, and inbetween races in Mario Kart - so even if it is disconnecting, you should get made aware that there are friends online at some point.

Hmmm. That seems like something that needs to be fixed in the firmware update, if getting people connected is a priority for them moving forward.

Thats weird, I managed to join a gp in progress. Didn't think it was possible.

That first Shyguy Bazaar was a class race and absolutely not at all to do with the fact that I had DK's fat ass in first from start to finish, I was keeping a watchful eye on that Lakitu behind me...
On a similar note I think there were two races were one of the Koopa users shot off into first and were never seen again. Amazing how races can change like that when all the mid place racers murder each other and the great gap is created.

Snatched victory from Farscape in our measly two-man GP. I got a gold shroom at the end, and I'm guessing you hit a banana or something, otherwise I don't think I could've passed you. I've got some stuff to do, but I'll be back later.

Loving this game so far. I'm a huge fan of the Mario Kart series and this seems to combine everything I've loved from past iterations into one glorious package. The only thing I don't like so far is the award ceremony after you finish a cup... it's boring and dull.

That being said, if that is my biggest complaint in the game then it was a damn good purchase

Had my first 7 player race which that was crazy fun! I also came last most of the time. Funny enough I didn't get any error and the lag was minimal. It is truly unique to see everyone throwing weapons at each other.
