Game over man! Game over =(

I suggest everyone get Too Human while you have the chance! It's going to be a piece of video game history.

Wario64 11-09-2012 08:07 AM

I bought Too Human on clearance for a tenner at Target and still returned it. I don't think I'm missing much.

Eusis 11-09-2012 08:07 AM

Man, I wish these sorts of decisions were about SURRENDERING the code rather than DESTROYING it. Hate the idea of destroying this stuff over a legal battle.

... Of course there's still the problem that they probably not really WORTH getting.

The Mana Legend 11-09-2012 08:08 AM

All unsold copies of Too Human? Shit, better get the landfill next to ET Atari ready.

JaseC 11-09-2012 08:08 AM

The ultimate backfire. Dyack ruining SK purely by his own hubris is impressive in its own right. At least the undoing of 38 Studios was by Schilling's sheer ignorance of the industry.

Snap

firehawk12 11-09-2012 08:08 AM

Holy shit. They're basically dead.

Unison 11-09-2012 08:09 AM

Still waiting for the rest of the Too Human trilogy...

Snapshot King 11-09-2012 08:09 AM

Bit dramatic isn't it?

jooey 11-09-2012 08:09 AM
All unsold copies of Too Human? Shit, better get the landfill next to ET Atari ready.
is there a backhoe big enough?

DopeyFish 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

Buying back all copies of too human? Bye silicon knights

AlphaTwo00 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

Wait, does it mean those games are now also getting delisted off XBLM?

Oddduck 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

Dump all these games in the same landfill as the E.T. Atari games.

ShockingAlberto 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

This whole lawsuit was never going to work out for them.

It was hubris at its finest.

Surface of Me 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

Holy shit, this is pretty crazy. Epic going for blood.

LiK 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

lol, wow

Heart Attack 11-09-2012 08:10 AM

I enjoyed Too Human for what it was, but yeah i don't think anything of value will be lost if they go under.

Xenon 11-09-2012 08:11 AM

It would be better if they had to turn the property over to Epic.

CheesecakeRecipe 11-09-2012 08:11 AM

Holy shit, destroying the code?

I don't really like the sound of this. Too Human wasn't a great game by any stretch but it gave me some weird form of enjoyment. So, was it true that Too Human's game code was essentially all re-written unreal stuff? Seems awfully overkill to make them delete the game code otherwise.

Lime 11-09-2012 08:11 AM

Oh man, the ebay prices for Too Human will get jacked up! Talk about a rare collector's item...

AlphaTwo00 11-09-2012 08:12 AM

So, who pays to recall XMen Destiny? SK, or Activision?

Tylahedras 11-09-2012 08:12 AM

Holy Sh**.

EviLore 11-09-2012 08:12 AM
Oh man, the ebay prices for Too Human will get jacked up! Talk about a rare collector's item...
That would require demand

Coxy 11-09-2012 08:12 AM

damn that's a big "Against"

Eusis 11-09-2012 08:13 AM
It would be better if they had to turn the property over to Epic.
Yeah. They'd probably sit on them (well, I guess if Activision cared they could call up for the X-men game), but at least it exists and could be exhumed at a later date.
That would require demand
You'll probably be finding copies in GameStop when they're doing buy two get two deals on 360 software 8 years from now.

Fuzzy 11-09-2012 08:13 AM
is there a backhoe big enough?
They should dump them into Lake Ontario to combat the lowering lake level.

miladesn 11-09-2012 08:13 AM

SK is going to get into further trouble because of this with publishers of XMEN and Too Human, it's not like the developer can return and destroy the game. I wonder what will happen. Bankruptcy seems imminent.

Saprol 11-09-2012 08:13 AM

Uhh, wow. So does SK actually have any games they aren't recalling and trashing?

chandoog 11-09-2012 08:14 AM

FOR !

SapientWolf 11-09-2012 08:14 AM

Who was their lawyer? Lionel Hutz?

LiK 11-09-2012 08:14 AM
That would require demand
whoa, new avatar is all business.

IntelliHeath 11-09-2012 08:14 AM
Uhh, wow. So does SK actually have any games they aren't recalling and trashing?
Eternal Darkness?

JaseC 11-09-2012 08:14 AM
So, who pays to recall XMen Destiny? SK, or Activision?
The publisher, I'd imagine, seeing as it's the party responsible for pressing the discs and shipping them to stores. Acti could attempt to pass that cost on to SK, but the company has been surviving on contract to contract, so this would surely be a fruitless endeavour.

Pikma 11-09-2012 08:15 AM
So, who pays to recall XMen Destiny? SK, or Activision?
Yeah, wouldn't be publishers the ones required to do this? They are the ones that sell those copies to retailers in the first place.

Persona7 11-09-2012 08:15 AM

Wow, this is weird.

ezekial45 11-09-2012 08:15 AM

I'd better find a copy of Too Human while I can. I just have to have it.

But really, this is a shitty situation - having to destroy all your work like this. Not that they didn't deserve, but still.

Wonder if it's possible for them to negotiate a deal to skip this crap. Or the plan is to bill SK for it, whatever.

Vagabundo 11-09-2012 08:16 AM

Ouch.

zroid 11-09-2012 08:16 AM

Too Human shall be mine.

Worse part is that she was pregnant.

vazel 11-09-2012 08:17 AM

I'm surprised by this. That's spiteful and mean.

Pylon_Trooper 11-09-2012 08:17 AM

Too Human Too - Powered By Unity.

AngryPyros 11-09-2012 08:18 AM
is there a backhoe big enough?
If they build the backhoe out of copies of the recalled games, they can make the first legit claim in a long time that they've made a groundbreaking product.
I think this just about covers it
Beautiful.

Too bad about SK, they made a couple good games. Nothing at all recent, but still. This is pretty much it for them then, isn't it?

Uncle Rupee 11-09-2012 08:18 AM
