Media Create Sales: Week 49, 2014 (Dec 01 - Dec 07)

Just wondering, why is the forecast number listed? But it is most likely over a million worldwide now regardless when counting all countries.
Just wanted to add all numbers that we have.

They probably already shipped those (or some of the) units in France, they certainly have some numbers to work with.

Wow... LBP3 bombed hard, didn't it (I doubt it sold much better in the West, though I haven't checked data for NA/EU).

That would top every third version of Pokemon (FW and LTD) and it remains to be seen if it will top B2/W2.

B2W2 sold 1.5m, didn't it? I think it's pretty much guaranteed to beat that, unless Level-5 didn't send enough copies to retailers. I think the only limit will be the amount they're able to ship, and last time showed us it wasn't enough.

YW2.5 reached 1m three days before launch, while YW2 "only" got 814k at launch. With Christmas around the corner, this might simply be parents being really cautious in order to make sure their kid get a copy, but looks like YW2.5 will be really big.

Really makes me wonder when the series will peak, and just how high it'll climb before that.

It was over 600,000 downloads the last time we got a download about it, right?

And Million Arthur is over 200,000 on 3DS...do we have infos on how much that game has been downloaded on Vita?

Wasn't it downloaded over 1m times on Vita? Or am I thinking of another F2P game on Vita?

But anyway, cool to see F2P games doing fairly well on the 3DS.

Amiibo - 104k

Most Popular:
Link Amiibo - 16k

http://www.m-create.com/english/latest_research/e_ranking.html

That's pretty good for amiibo... hopefully Media Create provide numbers regularly, but I doubt that (they didn't do it after launch week for N3DS faceplates).

Fair enough. I was wondering since forecasts and actual sales might end up being quite different.

In that case, they won't... well, they will if 200k is just a projection and not the total amount they've shipped for the holidays.

With all those shortages (even figures still in pre-order are out of stock on some websites), 200k seem pretty conservative imo.

104k Amiibo for a first week is pretty good.
I wonder if Link being the top seller everywhere is because he works with more games than the others (literally physical DLC for Hyrule Warrios) or because people just prefer his look and his games (more core audience for amiibo at first?).

Can't see it because quote within a quote, but MC wrote this:

・ “amiibo” sold 104 thousand units across 18 characters.
As a simple calculation, one unit was sold per 2 copies of “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U” so far, although there was the possibility of buying multiple units and of purchasing it alone.
Among all characters, “amiibo Link” was the most popular (16 thousand units), which was compatible not only with “for Wii U” but also with “Hyrule Warriors,” so it seems to acquire users who wanted to get special items.

hiska-kun posted that in the message I quoted. So yeah, looks like Link might have been more popular because of that.

PPC isn't really exotic, its been in consoles for a while, hasn't it? Its a dead-end though in terms of R&D as no one really works with it anymore. I am pretty sure not even IBM touches the architecture nowadays.

ARM and making a specified ARM chip for their needs shouldn't be unreasonable (Jaguar is a repurposed and specialized AMD APU, afterall). They'll work off a known type (K12 or something) and make a more personal unit with advantages more applicable to a game's console than some arbitrary do-anything tablet.

It is exotic now when 2/3 of the hardware makers have gone over to x86 hardware. Nintendo would be literally dumb if they tried to go with the PPC hardware route for their handheld when they can get out much more with a ARM CPU

Yeah, it doesnt say if its shipped 200k total or if its just a forecast. Also, keep in mind that 'different' can also mean higher :)

There's almost zero chance Nintendo dumps ARM for PCC in their next handheld. What's actually likely is them dumping PPC for ARM in their next console.

Isn't EDF2PV2 just an upgrade/remaster? Japan seems kind of tired of this kind of thing lately...

Wrong thread I guess, but I think in the US it was 133k for both and 99k for PS4. LBP2 did ~350k.

I went this afternoon to the Pokemon Mega Center Tokyo opening in Ikebukuro (Sunshine City) and... First of all, Youkai Watch doesn't want to Miss the Party (event for next week).

I will try to go again tomorrow after Youkai Watch Party Launch.
People should be lining for Youkai, Pokemon is doomed. It's my chance to get in there!! :D

Ha ha, first pic is quite symbolic. The battles of giants. Exciting times, really.

And wow, that's a lot of people. I believe 4Gamer.net and Famitsu got some pics... I'll try to find them and post the link here.

Fake edit: nah, nothing yet.

Wrong thread I guess, but I think in the US it was 133k for both and 99k for PS4. LBP2 did ~350k.

Thanks a bunch!

All them Streetpasses .

Also ive seen it mentioned it many times but never asked before : what are those pokemon centers ?

I imagined it as stores that sells everything in regards to Pokemon ( cards , games , dolls , statues etc )

Is this about right ?

It's basically stores that sell Pokémon-related goods (figures, plushies, TCG, etc...). They got an insane amount of stuff, most of it exclusive. They even get some LE consoles and more.

Think Apple Store for Pokémon stuff :)

I wonder what's going to happen to Shining of Resonance underperforms. I was surprised they chose PS3 over Vita for it. And seeing how Nova performed, I wonder if there's gonna be anything bigger than Miku for it in the future.

I want real remakes, but most people are ok with HD remasters, and these are cheaper to make too... oh well. It's probably one of the reasons why we will never see FFV Remake 3DS.

The main reason is that it would be iOS, and for iOS they decided that a quick remaster would be cheaper and have the same effect.
