HEY GUYS! I just got this game today! Wooo!!!!

I actually just bought a Dreamcast for MvC2, because I thought my TvC would never come in the mail. Today, it did! Wooo!!!

Anyway, I'm pretty lost. I played a few Arcade matches with my roommate, but I still have a few basic questions. (My main one is how do I do hypers now?)

Are there any good FAQs you guys would recommend? I'm seriously loving this game so much right now. It's fucking beautiful. (How do I unlock Viewtiful Joe?)

Quick question: Are there anymore partner hypers, like in MVC2? It seems like that might be a no, since a lot of the hypers "trap" the opponents in a small cutscene.

Either way, holy shit, this game is too good.

Variable Combination/Double Team Super
To do a Variable Combination/Double Team Super, choose your super, followed by tapping P during the super animation or "flash". For example, your team is Ryu/Karas. Do Ryu's QCF+AB super, then tap P during Ryu's super animation to get Karas to join in to do his super. Variable Combination/Double Team Super uses three super bars.

Delayed Hyper Combo
Similar to Marvel V.S. Capcom 2, you use your current characters super, followed by inputting your choice on your partners super. For example, your team is Ryu/Chun-Li. Do Ryu's QCF+AB super, then input Chun-Li's QCF+AB super during Ryu's super. Ryu's super gets interrupted, and Chun-Li continues with her super.

First off, those cabs are not my own but a friend's. He got them both for dirt cheap because someone at the shump forum had bought like 19 machines at a bulk rate special. I myself also bought one myself, but didn't because my girlfriend would have killed me.

But also, it was no easy feat getting them up and running. They had to be completely disassembled since they wouldn't fit my pal's tight apartment stairwell, then various components had to be replaced with specially order items, all from Japan of course, including the small stuff like special screws.

Plus, most cabs are in less than stellar shape, due to the abuse they general get from being in a Japanese arcade. Mostly discoloration from cigarette smoke.

Indeed. Most boards reach in the thousands. Right next to the cab is another one running various Cave shmups, running off a PS2, since each board is like $1,200 each.

To bad there's no PS2 port of Ketsui.... :(

Can someone help me set up my controller the way I want to?

Actually, I just have a question... In MvC2, you can have one button act as two button presses, thus making commands where you need to press two buttons at once much easier. Is that possible in this game so that I can do hypers by just using one button?

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. =)

Not sure if you guys know about this, just realized that the bridge at Chun Li stage can be demolished and your characters will fall down to a waterfall. Wonder if there are any more stages like this.

You can only do it in versus or arcade where there is timer. Its seems that different stages got different effect when a certain amount of Hyper combo is executed + time passes.

Well you need to do "ground-breaking" attacks or stuff that creates "earthquake" effects on both sides of the screen. That way the people working on the background will leave the area. Then you need to get rid of the biker at the background. After the timer reaches a certain time, the bridge collapses.

This game was the first game i have played in my Wii in over a year, and it really re-introduced me to the platform. Thanks for being so awesome TvC!

Now if my damn 2nd SNES Wii controller would just get here already :(

I played this over at a buddy's house and it is freaking amazing. Question for you guys...I don't know anything about Wii modding, but how would one go about getting Japanese games to play on a US Wii?

I think I've never paid so much for a not-with-accessories game, for the first time ever I've been shot down by the fuckin customs, those idiots even marked up 1$ as 1€, I was off from work and when the package came the receptionist paid in full without even blinkin'...

all in all this game costed me something like 70 MOTHERFUCKING EUROS




Did I mention I can't even play it yet?

I still play it with friends. It's just that there is not that much to say about it, most of the party was our anticipation for it before the release :)

So awesome. And there IS depth to it, although characters are not all equal to say the least.

a lot of characters that are kinda bad like saki and alex (especially saki, gets 24000 off unblockable shot with ryu) get better with ryu since he automatically makes combos longer, has a good dhc, and can do amazing damage without bar.

the robots are awful.

tekkaman is too, he's just toooo slow to do anything.

a lot of characters could probably get better/worse as people figure more stuff out. like roll might be great i dunno, but she won't ever be a ryu or chun or karas. ippatsuman and hakushon daimao might be good too, since they both have invincible anti-airs and this game loves jumpin.

Just picked this one up, as I can finally play it.

Turns out I could use my Wii Freeloader to run a PAL copy of Twilight Princess to run the exploit on a US NTSC machine. :lol Gotta love all those workarounds.

But now - I CAN FINALLY EXPERIENCE TATSUNOKO!

It's a shame that this game is never coming out in the West, at least for now. The fighting mechanics are awesome - I am a huge fan.

I just wish they'd maybe use this engine to create a new Capcom Fighting Allstars, like the one that was previously cancelled. (STRIDER!!!!) or even MvsC3 if it exists.

Only used Capcom characters so far. Viewtiful Joe is nice, but I wish he had a few more moves - it's as if they just threw him in directly from his games, no real "improvements" so to speak. I'm still trying to work out how to use Soki and his soul absorption techniques....seems to have a lot of potential.

Roll is fucking ownage too, btw. She's so cute ^_^

Might try out some of the mini-games soon too. Having a mate over soon enough so we can get some multiplayer going (and I might start using Tatsu characters too)

Are threre any special matchups in this game? My friends and i always use random, so I dont know if that affects ever seeing anything special...
