Thief sold more than Alien Isolation? Come on people!

As a digital focused title Driveclub selling more at retail than FH2 ain't gonna please some although if this counts bundles that should soften the blow.

Overall pretty much as you'd expect I guess.

I'm surprised how far down that list Dragon Age and Pokemon games were...maybe because they were released later in the year?

why do I feel so sad at seeing FIFA 15 and FIFA 14 in the top 10. I'd bet football manager would be up there if they allowed digital downloads as well.

Great to see Lego Batman 3 and Garden Warfare in the top 20, very disappointing to see Alien Isolation not in the top 20.

It took me awhile to find Infamous and Dragon Age.

Also, who the fuck bought Thief? I know there wasn't much to play earlier in the year, but surely people weren't that desperate.

Smash is way too low and Bayonetta 2 is way too not on the fucking list... Appalling. Cameron's Britain in action.

Pretty much the list I expected. Seems most people who aren't hardcore gamers in the UK only play FIFA, CoD and/or GTA.

Is it? Interesting. Partly because I think exclusives are mostly exaggerated as driving demand these days and partly because it aligns with various hints of sales that PS4 remains overall ahead in UK.

Thief has been heavily discounted for months, you can find it for almost nothing.

DC beasting, that bundling is paying off in spades, but will it mean success for the series going forward or is it doomed to poor sales without heavily bundling/discounting.

GT6 must have absolutely tanked, number 65 and just about outsold Skate 3 coming off its dismal December '13 launch.

Has it even cracked 250k? No way back.

Bundling a new IP normally plays out one of two ways:

If game is good and liked the bundling garners it a bigger install base that it might otherwise have gotten and generally subsequent entries will sell very well without bundling

If the game is weak or simply doesn't "click" with majority then it was never going to succed and the IP will wither whatever happens.

Bundling rarely results in a market that then waits for future bundles but it can artificially inflate how popular a game seems.

At this point it feels like word of mouth on Driveclub has been very good since they switched on challenges and released weather patch so unless the Plus edition aides lots of issues I think the IP will have benefitted from bundling.

I also think DC would have struggled without bundles due to the technical issues plaguing it at launch.
