[HOAX] Rockstar doing motion capture work for GTA 6 now [HOAX]

Nothing can work as much as LA does, it's just so diverse.
Eh. Miami has Haitians, Cubans, Jamaicans, Colombians, Mexicans, and country folk/rednecks along with run-of-the-mill white and black folk. Not all of which get along. It also has extreme transitions between wealthy areas and very poor areas. The cultural transition with the more country folk could add a huge additional angle or layer of depth to a story.

Miami can work better than most cities.

More like a lack of story-based DLC adventures coming out after release. Now you'll just get the main game, the online game & that's it. I miss the DLC Story Expansions.

You mean the story expansion that you got in one GTA game? You make it sound like it was a common thing for the series.

Why are you asking for Vice City again? It was the blandest of the GTA cities, its geography is super same-y and honestly, the 80's gimmick is not coming back.

I'd rather for them to take a shot at Washington, special with the current political climate.

I never expected to see such horrific heresy, i can understand why it could be not the best for some people, but worst GTA city? You are crazy man

Tampa also has like a million freak churches.

Everglades in between.

Fucking Alligators.

I'd like for them to make up a new city, based on somewhere like Detroit or New Orleans.

The series IS about American satire, so I certainly want them to keep it in the US.

Vice City is nice, but San Andreas was such a better game and as a city was way more memorable.

Tbf, Vice City is still miles better than dark and grungy Liberty City, so anything would be better than going back there.

Vice City in the 80's is happening, think of the endless modern parallels to be made and hell it's the age of excess so gtao2 would fit in the mood just fine. Now only if the game won't be written for 12 year olds like V.

SA actually has official support for mission expansions, but then the hot coffee thing happened and the plans were scrapped.

I hope that GTA stays in the present. Take2 can still do an other Mafia game, if people want 60's/70's so bad.

That being said... go crazy:

Still a not very realistic feeling island with several huge cities. Do these islands even exist IRL? Why does it have to be an island? Can't we have a big area surrounded by big mountains? I know GTA is fiction, but when I drive around this whole map in less than 30 mins, my immersion is completely gone. I'd rather have several separate island where you would have to take the boat or a plane and use a fast travel mechanic to get around to each city.

Or for them to make the dreamed "all cities in" game they have said want to make one day.

Because it still is one of only two truly great GTA games. It is also a fictional location loosely based on Miami so they can do whatever they want with geography - Washington is somewhat close to Miami btw.

All cities approach would be a mess imho. Part of GTA's appeal lies in the fact that each of its cities have their own character, and mixing all of them into one game would end up pretty badly I think. It's also worth mentioning that open world sizes should really stop getting bigger at this point as in some games the size of the world is starting to hurt the gameplay.

The three protagonists worked for V, I would like to see it again for the next game.
I didn't like it. All three of the characters were assholes. I hope GTA 6 will go back to one protag and that the player can choose either a male or female character with the gameplay and cutscenes reflecting the characters gender accordingly.

Yeah same, I actually hope they did the same with RDR2 too, multiple protagonists should the be the way to go moving forward for Rockstar.

I can't see it happening, but it would seriously be the perfect GTA.

Franklin was nice. I always played as Franklin.

it was though. Vice City was just a big flat boring land mass. That was actually the reason they put a big mountain in San Andreas.

It would be incredible if they pulled this off, but I don't expect it. 2 cities at most is what I can see.

There's also the risk of making the game too big. How do you make that fun? Or more fun than the size of GTA V, which was already great?

I think they can only use this card when each of the cities have had their own standalone games, lest they "waste" a city in a too-big open world.

Variety brings pleasure. San Andreas was fantastic because it felt like a long journey, and the sense of it being a real place was great.

Meanwhile, IV was just a big same-y mole and V had a really sad attempt at making LS feel like a county but the so called towns (only Paleto Bay feels like a town) are so few and divorced from each other than it feels like most of the map is just mountains and deserts, with nothing of interest in between. There's little incentive to go outside Los Santos.

A modern day, big GTA with various cities and a big region with towns in between would be great because it would allow a sense of being in a real place where you can get lost and everything can happen.

They also have LS and Liberty City already done so it seems easy to just put them in.

Don't see why they can't put a female character in with other protagonists

Pumped (as expected). Please be Vice City. And please be 1 protagonist.

Also, I still have a slight bit of hope that SP DLC will come to V, I believe that after the last major online update drops, then they will finish it off with SP DLC.

Here's a pic from Tim Neff's facebook.... are we looking at our next GTA protagonist?

16 pictures of him doing mo-cap from his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Therealtimneff/posts/878646075575108

Nope. No way would R* ever allow him to not only upload it, but even take the picture in the first place

The last thing we need right now is an even bigger and emptier map with no depth. How about a smaller, condensed map with tons of details and depth? And I'd like to see only one character this time around

It's not going to be Vice City, everyone is getting their hopes up on this only to be let down, ...or surprised by the next choice.

Ummm maybe because it was Florida? Theres no mountainous regions in florida. Especially around Miami

Hm, if only there were some fairly powerful console that made portable gaming really easy & convenient that this game (or previous ones in the series) could land on...

I just... I think that would be nice...

I'm aware of that. I was just pointing out that the map was pretty dull and I think Rockstar were aware of that given the changes they made to SA.

Vice City had a lot going for it but the land mass wasn't it. If they were going to do it again it would probably need to be part of something bigger like in SA where they basically made different states.

Is there still a huge drug war in Miami? I'd love for it to be modern day but still be focused on the drug war

They should be able to do whatever they want in terms of world politics and character motivations. I was mainly asking because it doesn't really seem like Rockstar are too interested in going back in the past. VC basically covered the 80's, and SA covered the period of the 90's that they were interested in (the early 90's). And it's really hard to imagine them going into any period before that.

To those wondering, it'll be one of the last four...

Miami - whats new? not worth going back to

Small town gta - tight stories, scheduled characters, ridiculous levels of ambience, every home interior modelled. Every building enterable. More realism - if your wanted you are on the run for a while.

Vegas 1970s- CASINO?

Somewhere snowy - chicago/detroit

Mexico City

It gets a pass. Its a game set in Florida from 2002. And it was R*'s 2nd 3D GTA.

As someone who enjoyed single player and online. I hope that they still have same standard for single player.

As for online. Can we not be sitting in load screens for half of it? Not sure if it's better now but it was bad. I'm going to try my best and just buy for ps5, and not buy 3 times lol.

The PS2-era GTA games were homages to movies and pop-culture. GTA IV and V have moved away from that, and while they have familiar threads and themes, they've seem to prefer a modern setting for these kinds of stories.

Personally? I'm hoping for Las Venturas.

I would say GTA IV moved away from that. GTA V made several nods to movies and pop-culture. And I agree, Las Venturas would be awesome.

The one real problem i have with a modern Vice City is that it'd be centered around water a lot, for obvious reasons, but boats are, by far, the most boring vehicle type, in these games.

Otherwise, a modern day Miami would be cool, it was gorgeous in Driv3r already.

Assuming we HAVE to stay in the US, of course.

From that list, Chicago/Detroit seems most likely. Small town would be interesting and immersive, but I doubt they want a smaller map to work with, especially in the confines of GTA Online. The likelihood of another period piece GTA also seems slim.
