Call of Duty gets hated on sometimes for allowing the gamer to progress without them having to do much. But in real life it would happen as well, so what is the complaint?
I have dabbled in the series and just started the MW3 solo campaign.

Prince of Persia 2008. It doesn't literally play itself, but it does it's best to require as little effort from the player as possible. You could probably beat the game using your foot.
Ironic that I think the 2008 reboot is the most underrated game of this gen?

not sure if this counts, but those 'dungeons' in AssCreed games. Hold R+A and a direction = profit.
The funny thing is that I found the platforming dungeons to be the best part of the last couple AC games. Your criticism can be applied the games as a whole. There is no difficulty curve or depth to the mechanics, you could hold the trigger and watch cool shit happen.
Space Channel 5 part 2 has a mode that plays itself and finds all the secrets.
