I would say Nagoshi is mostly vindicated because when they announced that the studio was tackling the third person shooting genre seriously, most people did not believe they were capable of it, especially because of Dead Souls. Now they seem to have really done it. The game is tight, it controls well, it feels good, and they've injected a good amount of Japanese game design elements into it which you don't tend to find in most western shooters.
