I'm wondering if "just above 10k" happens to be Vita's levelling-off point, or if there's always a small boost from *something* just to tide it over.

Good opening for Kid Icarus. I expect it to have pretty strong legs from here on out, and like I predicted in week 7, I think it will level out around 400k LTD in Japan.

The main worry I have I'd that Kingdom Heart DDD is going to really eat into sales that might be going to KI otherwise.

I'm surprised that Kid Icarus apparently gave the 3DS quite a boost. I suspected it to be one of these games that are selling primarly only to the already established userbase, but don't have much impact on people who don't have the plattform yet.

However, many people might have been sold by the combo of KI and KH. It's going to be interesting to see what next week's hardware sales are going to be like: stagnant or even higher?

Edit: Okay, new 3DS colour. That might also be the reason. :p

Well the numbers are really bad but at least it seems to be stabilizing.

The new 3DS color probably did a lot more for the boost than KI tbh.

In actual news that matters, Vita hanging on above 10K and a nice boost for 3DS via KI:U. The question now is how big a drop KI will take next week.

I take it as a good sign, as that indicates there is constant demand for it, as little as it may be. If there were no demand for it, sales would probably be under 5k at this point.

Super work from Kid Icarus and I'm happy to see the 3DS bundles did good numbers for hardware and for MHtriG. I had a feeling that maybe they wouldn't help much but I'm happy to have been proven wrong.

Kid Icarus has been sold out in my town in most stores. I am expecting only a small drop off next week.

Good start for KI also if I was expecting a little more. I'm curious to see if it will hang on or not.
Bad start for Black Panther 2.
So and so for NG3 that is not a so popular franchise imho in Japan.

Mario&Sonic postpone the "100K club" to next week for few units, Miku confirm good results and HMoon confirm great results

One Piece will not be a million seller, but it's already a great success

Boosts for MH and ML are very positive indeed, and MK7 confirm that it doesn't need any bundle at all to keep the same "legs"

HW-wise, GREAT 3ds performance, it seems that Japanese guys missed that MH3G bundles were out from last week, and went buying everything this week AHAH :D

Positive word of mouth, like that which is floating around in the OT, could see kid Icarus having strong sales for a few weeks to come at least. I fully expect Kingdom Hearts to be top by some margin next week.

There are two MHtriG start packs that include either Cosmos Black or Fire Red 3DS handhelds. They went on sale on March 17th for ¥19,800 (US$246). Also, there were Super Mario 3D Land bundles on sale in Ice White and Misty Pink. They had SMB pre-installed, were priced at ¥19,800 and were released March 24th.
