Greatest Courtroom Speeches (Real/Fictional)

My vote would have to go to HBO's magnificent miniseries John Adams, in which an American lawyer, against all his inclinations and growing desire for independence, defends the accused British soldiers following the Boston Massacre. Adams' argument states the men had a right to defend themselves after being harassed by an angry mob with ice balls, clubs, shells and rocks, along with his closing argument which stated that "facts are stubborn things" and "a sentry's post is his castle" has to put this one at the top for me.

This is enough to bring tears to my eyes, wow.

This is what I give. I give an expression of care every day to each child, to help him realize that he is unique. I end each program by saying, 'You've made this day a special day by just your being you. There's no person in the whole world like you. And I like you just the way you are.' And I feel that if we in public television can only make it clear that feelings are mentionable and manageable, we will have done a great service.

well, fuck.

I need to save this and use it as a defense against all those people who think that one guy who gave the "You are not special" graduation speech was a hero.

I can't find a clip of the Senate hearings from The Aviator, but I'm pretty sure I remember it being a good one.

The Soiled Dove Plea given by Temple Lea Houston. Given the client seconds before she had to show up in court, she was guilty without a shadow of a doubt, and still got off.
