There are very few KS where you can actually see how the game will look like instead of just listening to devs telling you how it might look like :(

Yes, we are not very happy either. One of my theories is that we actually showed too much! We may have fell into a "dead zone" where we didn't overhype people with promises and live action cinematic quality videos that allow people to paint a picture in their head of what they think the game will be like.
A lot of times, especially when playing with nostalgia, you can hit people's "buttons" so that they are able to dream up what they think the end product is going to be. Each person's "dream game". The problem is, everyone has a slightly different idea of what it will be. We gave them lots to look at and read and to really get into the game design if they wanted. Not just buzz words. So they were able to nit pick and focus on what wasn't there (it's still a pre-alpha!).
As for the timing... We were supposed to launch a week before E3 so we could get some hype and hopefully ride the E3 wave a bit. But there were some difficulties with Kickstarter (growing pains I think) that pushed it back that week. We added an extra week to the KS to cover. Maybe not the best idea, not sure.
