I just got out of a presentation of Viva Pinata. While it's still a bit rough around the corners the game seems mostly finished and as expected it looks very nice. I think there is a bit more depth in it than I expected, but it's still a kid's game at heart. I have the whole presentation on tape, hopefully it will look good.
I don't if it's been said before or not, but the game was *terrible* yesterday at the MS booth, running at like 2 fps at times or something. Turned out that the demo stations were setup not to allow disk writes for caches/autosaves but the version displayed was still trying to do the writes, so it was timing out all the time, making the game chug down to an unplayable mess. Even during the press conference, which was very embarassing...
