3DS has an Animal Crossing/ Mario RPG/ Pokemon Mystery Dungeon combo. It's going to be a massacre.

Vita had no titles last week. This week had new games brought to market, and the increase in hardware sales is as good as statistical noise. It's moribund.

I will very carefully pay attention to BD: FF in the upcoming weeks.

The two best selling new PS Vita releases sold 37,000 units combined, it was unreasonable to expect more than a negligible hardware bump.

I think the sequence of events dictate that retailers take action now.

I mean, on Vita's part it can't get any worse, it's selling as bad as new hardware can possibly sell and is by all accounts dead in Japan. Gamecube and Dreamcast were dead back then, well, this is more dead, just something to think about.

it's now up to retailers to declare it officially dead by not restocking it ever again and putting it out if their inventory for good in the next couple of months.

whether retailers want to piss off sony by doing that and risk further partnerships, it's up to them so maybe it'll all stay like that until sony themselves bail out of the handheld market, maybe in 2 or 3 years.

Great hold for BD.

Little Battlers is definitely disappointing. The franchise is not a new IP anymore and the sequel is multiplatform and yet it has a lower opening than the first game.

It's not a good debut at all, with part of it due to the PSP slowing down, and the Vita not being a proper platform for it. The other part is all on Level-5 though, the constant re-releases of the first game have had to warn people to wait. The game should have some legs as the marketing campaign for the movie picks up but there's no way that combined it reaches the height of the first. Oh well, I'm playing my copy of LBX W.

Vita seems to have hit its max now - those are still decent software sales but no real Vita boost. 3DS making up more than 50% of hardware sales this year; am not sure theres room for Vita; when the WiiU launches Nintendo is going to have a significant foothold over the gaming market for at least a year.

Great second week for BD.

It's a Japanese pun thing. They apparently pronounce "W" as "double" which ties into the fact that this arch in the franchise has 2 protagonists. The W branding has been used on the anime, and other related products. The re-releases all use the "Boost" suffix too.
