‘FIFA 13’ (-47%) scores another No1 in 2013 as the EA title takes top spot for the 6th time since its release in week 39 2012.

Ubisoft’s ‘Far Cry 3’ (-36%) remains at No2 ahead of Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ (-41%) at No3. ‘Hitman Absolution’ (-54%) holds its position at No4 ahead of EA’s second Top 5 title ‘Need for Speed Most Wanted’ (-54%) at No5. Ubisoft also have a second title in the Top 10 with ‘Just Dance 4’ (-52%) climbing a place to No6, knocking Microsoft’s ‘Halo 4’ (-60%) down to No7.
‘Football Manager 2013’ (-32%) climbs up the chart and back into the Top 10 at No8 ahead of ‘The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim’ (-42%) which is also up a spot to No9. It means Warner Interactive’s ‘Lego The Lord of the Rings’ (-48%) drops a place to No10.

Sega’s new beat em up ‘Anarchy Reigns’, developed by PlatinumGames, is this week’s sole new entry at No16.

Wii U is a market irrelevance. Nobody wants it, nobody is buying it.

Anarchy Reigns entering at 16 probably says a fair bit about how down numbers across the board will be during these early January weeks. I can't imagine that game sold that well at all yet is good enough for a 16th entry. Those 30-40 positions will be selling really small amounts, which in turn says even more about the sales of Wii U games.

FIFA (all formats):
Week 01 = <58.9K
Week 02 -47% = <31.2K

The split has typically been about 50:30 (360

S3).

If that split holds the 4th position on the individual formats will be <10K.

General consensus from them was 1. Not enough worthwhile games now and not many on the horizon and 2. Too expensive for what it is.

I have a Wii U, and I like it. But I strongly agree with the first point above.

I think Nintendo's biggest mistakes were with the Wii. I bought a Wii at launch and have no interest in Wii U because of my experience with the Wii. Roll on PS4.

Rayman Origins didnt chart in its release week (and not in the next either) eventhough it was on platforms with much bigger userbase :\ This was in late November however.

I do think that Rayman Legends actually has a very good chance to chart this time around. Rayman Origins for Vita charted at 6th place in the Top 40 when it was released. If that port could chart that high, i think Rayman Legends has a very good chance to chart as well.

I'm still not sure if Ubisoft got paid BIG-TIME or Ancel lost his goddam mind. I'd love to have the kinda income again right now where I could just impulse buy a WiiU to play Legends and nothing else, but I don't.

I can only assume some form of porting will occur, and maybe a Rayman Castle Run game with the art assets too to make this endeavour anywhere near profitable.

Legends has a pretty big amount of hype behind it, it will definitely chart, overall how it does though depends on pricing in the long term though

It didn't seem to do so bad at one point. NG3 was very badly received which probably didn't help.
