About the Timeline - I posted that on the website I run. Give me feedbacks if i'm wrong. :)
I know that Aonuma said himself that TP takes place between OoT et TWW, but i'm convinced he talked about the general chronology of the zelda series, a mixing about the two dimensions.

RED after the 0 mark - adult dimension after the end of OoT
GREEN after the 0 mark - new child dimension created after the end of OoT
(1) End of Ocarina of Time. See Below for details
(2) MM events in the new child dimension created after the end of OoT
(3) TP event I supposed...
(4) Event after the end of OoT in the Adult Dimension where oot-Princess-Zelda (adult) started to rebuild Hyrule after the war, and after oot-Link was sent in a new child dimension.
(5) I don't know exactly where it takes place but it is the event about the war between Ganondorf and Nohansen Hyrule. At the end of that war, Hyrule is flooded and sealed under the sea.
(6) TWW event.

(1) As Aonuma said a while ago in 2001, in an interview posted on the official TWW website. Takano, scenarist of TWW, based the story of TWW on the end of OoT. At this point oot-Link creates two parallel dimensions that are dissociated story-wise. it happens when Link is warped in the past at the end of the game (OOT), Aonuma explains that the plan left by oot-Link doesn't disappear.
(4) oot-Zelda (adult) and all the others spend their life even after oot-Link's disappearance in this dimension..
(2) However a second dimension is born, the one where oot-Link has returned as a child. we must take in account that oot-Link created a dimension where he hasn't met oot-Zelda (child) yet (shown on the end's scene of OOT). we can guess it in MM
(2) , because Zelda gives him the Ocarina of time during the intro of MM, while in the other dimension, Zelda (adult), kept the Ocarina of Time.
It's very important to understand that fact (which is explained not by me but by aonuma himself and then no need to shout at me "bulllshits!!")

(6) So TWW takes place in the dimension where zelda (from OOT) was adult at the end of the game, also TWW's intro clearly relates this event. oot-Link crossed time, saved Hyrule, and disappeared. actually he hasn't disappeared, he was sent in a new dimension by oot-Zelda (adult), in a new plan
(2) where he is a child and where no war has taken place yet.

(3) Thanks to ONM's post from Rockstar, we can now deduce why TP takes place in the child link's dimension of OOT, for a simple reason, no one in TP's hyrule has memories of the hero of time. That's logical...
if you read what i typed, you've understood that in this dimension, OOT's link has come back when nothing had happened yet, apart from the child-zelda he meets at the end of the game (I supposed he told her everything about what he has done), no one knows what he has done in the other dimension.

A) This is exactly what I was talking about when I said the chronology is irrelevant, because people would remember Link… and they don't.
