There didn't seem to be any visual upgrade at all. The footage literally looked like PS2/Wii footage. Really lazy...

What visual upgrade are you expecting? It's just the old games running at a higher resolution with AA (maybe). That's what HD Remasters are. This isn't a remake.
They have special event cafes for everything these days.
