I would argue there is a significant difference between DLC and £120 for a Jaguar XJ13.
DLC isn't per se a poor practice (and if it's big enough it's simply comparable to add-ons). Preorder DLC is okay if it's priced reasonably, retailer-exclusive DLC is just stupid. How is the microtransaction system in BD?
