It's not that people don't want Retro to work on Donkey Kong, it's that we just got Donkey Kong and they want something new. Nintendo is sitting on a ton of great, dormant IP's and Retro is famous for breathing new life into Nintendo's classic franchises.

People would probably be a lot happier with this if they made it after making another new game.
