I don't complain about more DK, but Retro has proven from time again and again that they're capable to take on much bigger and risky projects. Personally, I can't help but feel they use DKCR2 to get familiar with the Wii U architecture and are testing waters

We'll get our "big" Retro game, no reason to dismiss DKCR2 though

This. I think many got disappointed that Retro wasn't making something crazy new IP or a new Prime. All the bogus pre-E3 rumors didn't help the situation.
