The responses back in that thread were coming off the expectations of at least a new Metroid game, if not a completely new IP. Having Nintendo use their only western studio to make... another platformer would be underwhelming if you were waiting for Nintendo to justify a WiiU purchase.

At this rate we might not even get to play whatever Retro's been working on lol
