Agree with OP. After owning DS lite for years I was so hyped about getting 3DS, finally got it two months ago and... it seems like a real dissapoint. Console parts feels really... strange, I don't know. DS lite was much more comfortable to hold. Maybe that was fixed in 3DS XL.
Games are somewhat good though.

Every model of 3DS is a huge step up from the atrocious screen and buttons on the DS Lite.
