Yes the OS isn't that great (although it's quite the improvement over the DS's barebones OS), and yes Nintendo has made some archaic decisions with the eShop, but it can all be easily overlooked given the wealth of compelling games on the platform.

Also OP you might be interested in the original 3DS if you're unhappy with the XL's screen. I greatly prefer my original screen - it's so sharp
