while mp2 was kind of polarizing in reception (people either liked or hated it. imo it was better than mp1), mp3 turned to be the weakest entry and was going in a bad direction (super linear and too much action focus).
if anything, Retro should be making a new IP but, since Nintendo is the one making the decisions, a new IP that caters to the west is very unlikely from them.

Should be noted that the MP1 guys made a port of Injustice on Vita and Batman Origins Blackgate (the handheld spinoff that got 4s and 5s out of 10)
