Metroid seems like it is getting a hiatus after the Other M backlash, and I guess people were hoping Retro would come in and save it. Personally speaking I'm fine with another DKC game, but some people seemed like they were quite ready to drop money on a Wii U to play Retro's next game until it turned out to be DKC. I maintain though, that in the overall scheme of things a new IP or Metroid wouldn't have made a ripple and people are just venting about it here.
