I don't care if Nintendo shits out a dozen "Fucking Donkey Kong" games per year. I do care that basically the ONLY 1st party studio they have, capable of making games such as Metroid Prime (not another Metroid Prime per se), but games that are sorely lacking on Wii U, has been wasting its time on it, while they could have easily picked one of their many other internal studio's to do another DKC. Goodfeel is not even a first party, but they made Epic Yarn and now Yoshi's Yarn. People that think Retro was the only studio capable of making a good Donkey Kong game, need to wake up and play Jungle Beat. Especially after Retro did a good job on their first DKC, another studio could have stepped in and continue on the groundworks Retro laid out with the "first" one.
THAT is what's bothering me, that's why indeed i will say Fucking Donkey Kong, even if it's a good game. This isn't Zelda, or (3D) Mario, it's an action platformer. While nice, it's not what i want Retro to be "wasting their time" with.
Also people making the claim that Nintendo was just "being smart" since DKCR was a huge hit (saleswise) while Metroid Prime barely sold a million (on average over the 3 games?). They are also forgetting the casual audience that bought the Wii which is now obviously not buying a WiiU. Case in point: NSMBU did not move systems and is not a chart topper on Wii U, while it sold many more copies than DKCR on Wii, a game in the same genre. If the casual audience is there, DKC will sell more. If the casual gamer is not on board, DKC will not outshine a game like Metroid Prime that much.
Also... does it really take 3 to 4 years to make another DKC? When did the Wii game release? When did they finish? I know Retro isn't a 300 people studio, but last i checked, they weren't reduced to single digits either. Yeah, hyperbole, but whatever.
