I wouldn't say "unwanted", I'd say it's a bit disappointing though. At least for me.
I mean, they're a gifted studio, but have fallen into sequel traps. First Metroid Prime, and now Donkey Kong. Granted, with Metroid Prime at least that offered up variety in Nintendo's first party lineup. How many 2.5D platforms are Nintendo going to pump out every year? While they've only ever had 3 FPS Adventure games.
I'd rather them be doing Metroid Prime or something else to diversify Nintendo's lineup. Like see if they could re-invent F-Zero or do a new IP in a genre Nintendo lacks in.
