Uh, apparently "they" are bringing "Black Isle" back...

Not really sure about how i feel about this. Most BIS is at Obsidian anyway, it feels like a cheap move to use Black Isle's name to cash in some easy money.

If they are going to make RPGs in the Black Isle tradition I wish them the very best of luck whoever they may be.

Wait, what if it's inXile merging with Obsidian? They did talk about Wasteland 2 like they were bringing back Black Isle...

Black Isle is dead. I don't think even having Obsidian being absorbed into this new thing would even fully legitimize it for me.

However, if this new studio is dedicated to making games like the old Black Isle did, I wish them the best of luck. Unfortunately, the skeptic in me either expects them to end up working on F2P Facebook "RPGs".

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
I feel stupid for asking, but.. who is "they"? Interplay? Obsidian? EA? Nintendo? VALVE? The democrats? McDonalds?

It always struck me was weird that Black Isle published the BG series, with Bioware developing it.

I guess that's because I've always viewed them as the underdog to Biowares soulless corporate image.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
Much of the BIS talent has been flung to the four corners of the industry. Only Obsidian seems to have a decent group of former employees, and plenty have even moved on from them.

Oh, so it's just Interplay's latest cry of desperation?

I feel kinda bad for what happened to their Fallout MMO, though.

Well if those two are involved...I'm intrigued.

Yep, it kinda makes more sense since Obsidian are involved with Wasteland 2. Still, not getting my hopes up - maybe they would work better as individual companies.

I just read that Interplay is bringing back Black Isle. Hmmm... Not enough info for me to comment.
