Me too... until he got to the part about escort missions and QTEs and how your unkillable character can be killed. I had never heard of this game until this video and now I hate it. It would be better for it to not exist than for it to exist and waste its awesome potential.

Yep considering SH2 is his most favorite game he will .. we all know what is going to happen.

Those little things that suck you in and instant kill you are a disgusting game mechanic. They exist only because the devs realized the game was too easy and had to stick something in there to try and reign that in.

How is it about spoilers? I've been afraid to watch it.
Minor spoilers concerning potential squadmates, romance options, and the location of the final mission. He basically glosses over the ending completely (basically just acknowledges that he knows there are complaints but says "it could have been worse") and he doesn't mention any of the major missions in any detail. It also seems pretty clear that he didn't touch the day one DLC.
Honestly, he doesn't really say a whole heck of a lot about the game.

"Could've been worse" the best compliment one could give the ending.
Pretty spoiler lite. Couple of super minor things like how many squad mates you get, but that's about it. Doesn't name names or tell you of any deaths and events I don't think.

I thought it was pretty right on the money actually. Most of his concerns were simply gameplay and 'story excuse' oriented, which is something completely missing from every other review out there. The ending is not as brutal if you do not invest that much time in it, much like every other game out there.
The issue begins with the 'critical mass' of actually giving a fuck about it. Once you do, there's no way you could consider the ending any good. If you don't, then the ending is 'meh' and you return the rental.
Pretty much every reviewer deals with games in a 'rental' fashion, so his response to it is understandable.
Would still made for a good snarky remark.
The problem with Mass Effect 3 is that not playing the multiplayer negatively impacts your campaign somewhat.
The campaign? It plays into the ending sequence. Minimally.

Honestly, I think he himself takes what he says quite seriously. He plays fast and loose with what's usually considered to be important for reviews and exaggerates points for comedic effect, but if you've read any of his Extra Punctuation columns (which are a whole lot less entertaining or interesting) you'll see that he's quite earnest about game design and how he thinks developers should do things. Pretty sure he thinks of himself as a critic, not an entertainer.

Twisted Metal is primarily a multiplayer game. That may be a deal breaker, but in any case, Yahtzee isn't a good place that kind of decision. (Then again, I'd go as far as to say he is not good for anything but the occasional laugh.)
Talks big? The game designer you're referring to pretty much told people not to buy the game based on the single player alone.

He hit the nail right on the head with this review - NG3 is by far the worst game I've played in the last couple of years and it holds the #1 spot (right now) for the worst I've played this gen.
It's so incredibly terrible I don't even know where to begin..

he's right you know id rather they do a game on their own , a new Ip with good ideas than "YET another silent hill"..
It's the same with Dmc for example or many Ip this gens.
Maybe silent Hill downpour would have been better received if it wasn't a Silent hill in the first place ??
