Just saw this on Twitter, Just Cause 3 Boost Mode:

I'll try to confirm once my download finishes.

The Witcher 3 PS4 Pro Boost Mode
Swamp
The Witcher 3 PS4 Pro Boost Mode 2
Novigrad (actually, might be Oxenfurt? I play this game and I can't tell lol)

Not my footage

Another Bloodborne video. This time I compare Witches from Chalice, because it's the thing that kills the framerate the most.

First is Beast, second is Amateur

not sure how this won't straight up break some games.

but the first thing I want to try is Bloodborne

Wow, really?
Didn't even know this was possible, considering what they did regarding the gpu.

Even if it's just for games with unstable framerate / resolution, I'm really looking forward to this!

People that think this means 60FPS versions of games are mental.

enjoy your 3-5fps boost.

At least this will now deflect the hatred for Sony on to the individual developers of the games with locked 30fps.

Just for games with unlocked framerates?

i would assume so.

If a game has a hard 30fps lock, 'boost mode' or whatever it's called might prevent certain drops from happening, but it's not gonna deactivate the framerate lock.

Well, The Witcher 3 would greatly benefit from 3-5 extra FPS in certain areas.

This won't turn Bloodborne into 60FPS, lol. But it's interesting to see what it does.

I imagine it breaks some games completely.

I think this just means that it will help the games keep a steady frame rate. Which is a welcome addition.

You wont be seeing games go from 30-60fps. Sorry.

Probably allows the CPU to run at 2,1GHz. Not sure if they can utilize the extras CUs for games not programmed for it, but there's a possibility. Or they can boost the GPU/VRAM clock speeds.
