unfortunately sleep wasnt standard on the gba like it (mostly) is on the ds, the game needs to support it. i believe its done charging when the blue lights turn off, and yes they are a charge/battery indicator. they turn red when the battery is low.
Thanks, that's a shame about the lack of a proper sleep mode; it's the first system where I've really felt I could take it anywhere and play for 3/4 minutes while waiting for something, but it'd need a proper sleep mode for that really. (at least some games have one though, and you can quick-save anywhere in the Castlevanias)

Is there a way to turn the screen off to save power? While FFVI (not played the others yet) has a quick-save option, if you're in battle you can only pause, and they can sometimes take a while.

this thread got me excited about buying GBA micro

but i have 1 question.

what big upcoming GB micro games coming. is there any or the system is dead because of the DS [ what would be the point if i am only stuck with the old games ]
It's basically a "dead" system now really, but there are so many good games available for it.

Here's my attempt at a photo:

(it's so hard to get the micro and the screen looking decent at the same time, without reflections)

I don't know if we can talk about it here or not; I've heard a lot of micro owners use flash-carts, as it means all they need to take is the system, and they have all their games without swapping carts. This sounds like a great idea, but what's the best to get, and can you transfer the saves off your own carts somehow? I've got 100% saves on most of my games, and there's some that I'm quite far through so I don't want to start over. I assume they must come with some sort of card-reader to transfer your games onto it?

my DSL plays GBA games so it's hard for me to justify a game boy micro purchase even though i think they're really cool

Well if you can look around, they are cheap enough. I paid 50 for mine but people are finding them for 20-30 at places like TRU

I went to buy one but they seem to be at the $70 price still. :[

ALSO, woah, I never knew you can stretch the GBA screens on the DS.

Because he has 4? How many GBA's do you have again?. Post your pyramid picture. :lol

I now own 6 GBAs (2 GBA, 4 SP, 2 micro). One GBA was launch, another $10 shipped, NES SP, Famicom SP, bright lit SP, launch SP, Famicom micro, take out micro. Not too unreasonable for a collector.

ok you goofballs - after reading this thread - remembering my launch Gameboy Micro which i shunned for a fat DS way back when, and just now realising - Gameboy micros arent in stores and seem limited on ebay - i had to go win an auction for a new one and like 10 more GBA games...

GBA Micro is amazing (owned it before) get them before they are gone....

it was stressful too..i looked them up on ebay - and saw one of the famicom micros new in the wrap (i dont/wont touch used handhelds - eww - ESPECIALLY a used pornstation portable) gently placed a bid on it just under the buy it now price - and nabbed someone clicked it away from me....so i found the next new one in the wrap (settled for a black/silver one) and "Buy it now!"'ed its azz straight away.

cant wait to hold one of those sexy suckas again...the true ultimate 'portable' system.

Got one for $50.

Oh my god, it's so small and awesome. They had a $70 option with two more faceplates, but I'm a cheap asshole I guess.

How do you pop out the faceplates?

If I remember corrrectly - it comes with a little tool you stick into the two holes on the side of it.

I cant wait till my new one comes in..

If he has a Famicom Micro no dice: It has no faceplate per se... it's attached to the unit.

Nah, the faceplate comes off. Just look on the side for the 2 small holes and use a pen tip on each of them to pop the plate.

oh... good to know.

I have plenty of GBA games that can be linked up to the GC. Problem is that I only have a GBM, and plenty of the official cables. I have like 4 converters and I think 6 connecter cable. The only thing I don't have is the GBA-GC link cables. There used to be somebody on the web with instructions on how to make the cable GBM-GC. I have bought an extra few link cables to do this with. Is there anyone here who knows how to go about this. All I need to get hold of is GBA-GC cable.

This thread made me realize that a game boy is the perfect solution for a bittered gamer like me. I dont like new games cause they tend to revolve around the graphics. Ive always been more a fan of rpgs/platformers instead of the 90000fps 3000p HD crapgames.

Im gonna buy a Gameboy Micro :)

QFT - I just picked up a DSL, but those pictures are igniting a lust in my heart for a GBm as well...

This is how I felt at around January 2006. So that following summer i decided to invest around £600 on a GBM, plenty of official cables and around 25 games. Don't regret it yet. In fact it could well be over £600, I haven't counted.

If you have a collection of GBA games, this is ideal.

I still play on mine almost everyday. whether I am on the bog, lazing around, procrastinating, commuting, I have it with me. You won't be dissaopointed at all. It really is the true portable, that should have been what the GBA SP became.

If you are going to opt for the famicom version I'd suggest buying another one too. You will not want it getting scratched.

I just won an auction for the Famicom model. $35 new, shipped! I think I'd like a black faceplate for it, though. Maroon body, black faceplate. Mmmm... Then my Famicom faceplate won't get scratched.

ya kno - there is alot to be said for the evolution of gaming - then again you can still have the old and the old is popular (proven by retro comps and BC)

Its not like the music industry - where great records go out of print never to be seen again.

Black faceplate on Famicom GBM is the sex.

Mine's black on black and hot as can be. It's been collecting for the past half-year or so, since the DSL hit the US, but I think I'll retire my DSL for GBA games and continue them (Castlevania CotM, FFV, FFVI) on the GBm.

I just bought doom for GBA and I figured I'd get a micro so I can take with me everywhere including work and have some fun playing that and FF:1 and 2. This is an awesome little thing. How is the brightness? An earphone outlet there of course?

The screen is really bright and colorful, as if you are using a DS Lite. I believe there is a headphone jack, although I have not used it.

I love the little thing, I dusted off my copy of Metroid Fusion and found out I forgot everything about the game. :lol So it's like I'm playing it again for the first time.

This thing is awesome, I love being able to carry it in the cigarette lighter pocket of my jeans. Also went back to Circle of the Moon but I'm putting it on the back burner until Metroid Fusion is done. I don't want to burn out my Metroidness.
