This might be my first 3DS game. Idk. I want a proper 3DS game pretty bad but the more I think about it the less I think I should buy in.

LOL, Nintendo's rushing out some junk Pokemon game (outsourced, even!) to help move the 3DS. How shameless and desperate...

Kinda like how when Nintendo released Pokemon Rush, right? How shameless! tsk tsk

Look at the game. Kids love Pokemon and Nintendo knows that a 3DS title would sell tons of units to kids. The game looks more targeted towards that demographic than the more substantial Pokemon games, and it also doesn't exactly look like it had a lot of work put into it. Even the title, Pokemon Rumble Blast!!, reeks of an attempt to grab children's attention. Reminds me of Sonic X-Treme!

Edit: Well, yeah, it's obvious, but humorous to me.

Don't do it then, unless you really enjoyed Pokemon Rumble on WiiWare. It's not even a great showcase title compared to StarFox 64.

Save your $40 and buy Mario in a few weeks.

I'll buy Rumble Blast, used and probably next year. It's a title that doesn't warrant the price tag, and my backlog is too long as it is.

Every Pokemon spin-off is 'outsourced'.
Just about all of them are junk.
It probably won't 'move' 3DS units.
It's a Pokemon spin-off on the latest handheld, it's common sense, not shameless or desperate.

Next new mainline games in 2014 (in Japan).

Uh, it's definitely shameless. Maybe it's not exactly desperate if there's already a precedent for this type of release, but excuse me for not keeping abreast on the shit side of the Pokemon series.

As a note, the developer of this game, Ambrella, is actually more internal than outsourced and has made nothing but pokemon games since it was formed. The quality has certainly been...mixed, though.

Hey You, Pikachu!
Pokemon Channel
Pokemon Dash
My Pokemon Ranch
Pokemon Rumble

To their credit, the Rumble games are the most game-like and interesting of the bunch. This is not a desperate or shameless move for Nintendo; this is an expected outcome considering the developer.

Still no OT? I'm hoping to pick up my preorder of this today. The WiiWare version was a lot of fun, and with all the Pokemon included this one should be much more substantial.

This is basically a loot game, except the loot you're collecting is more Pokemon of higher and higher levels and money to buy new moves. The WiiWare version didn't have a ton of substance, but it had me hooked for a good while trying to farm higher level Pokemon and shinies.

I've been looking forward to this since the original announcement. Hopefully someone will make an OT and it won't get crapped up with negativity like every other topic about this game has.

I played it a bit at the Nintendo store yesterday - honestly, it seemed fun, but very simple. I guess it would depend on how the Pokemon collecting and upgrading works.

The 3D effects are way better than you would think, but the texture work and such isn't that great.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Wait, but isn't already 24th October also in US?
So, shouldn't be already available?
Or there's something linked to shipments, etc. etc.?

Ambrella are a 2nd party developer so you're right in saying that it isn't really outsourced. Their stuff is usually complete garbage but Rumble on Wii Ware is a decent (albeit) brainless and very repetitive co-op brawler. It's somewhat fun in short bursts and the fun multiplies with how many players you have (on you're own its terribly boring though. Absolutely horribly boring and repetitive) Easily their best game to date, though not a masterpiece by any stretch.

I played Super Pokemon Rumble at Eurogamer Expo and it is exactly what you would expect. A decent upgrade using the same graphics as the Wii game with more Pokemon, stages and a few new gameplay elements. The 3D effect is surprisingly nice though.

Same here, I was hooked on the WiiWare for a good long while (in fact, I believe it's my most-played WiiWare title except for MM9).

Anyhoo, I'm in. I'll snag it today at Best Buy, if they have it. It's simple, yet fun.

Kotaku has an article up saying you shouldn't buy Pokemon Rumble Blast, which actually makes me want to buy it right now.

I've already put about 10 hours into the game and I'm on Chapter 3 now. It still has the same problem as the original - you can't level up so you can't be picky about using your favorite Pokemon most of the time - but it's still the same fun game, this time expanded into a much longer story mode.

I know this is an old topic, but I've been playing this game again recently, and the later parts of it are surprising me actually. Although the plot isn't zomg amazing, I'm amazed it even has one! Also surprised at the new ways of going through certain areas like the Team Battles and the Flag Charge. Also, some of the tracks are surprisingly good.

Either way, I'm enjoying my time with it! It's too bad most of the peeps here just brushed it off as a quick cash-in. :(
