Hey, so if i leave a pretty weak guy at a empty gym and then train it to like level 7. how easy is it for enemies to take it down? do they just have to kill my weak guy once and the whole gym falls at once?
Its got 20k prestige.

With being so weak it will be easy to defeat, but you can only knock it down so much each try, but if they can go all the way through in one go can easily drop if a few thousand or more at at time.

So I guess I just want to know how much does the prestige go down each time. Like if they use a 2000 dragonite and kill my weak rattata at the level 7 gym how much does it decrease the prestige? does it go down by 7k and the gym becomes level 6? and then decrease by 6k the next defeat?

When taking down gyms: You get 500 prestige points per Pokemon defeated + 1500 prestige points as well if you defeat them all.

So if a Gym with 3 pokemon is taken out, it will be knocked down 3000 points. Usually resulting in a Pokemon or so being knocked out.

If you have only 1 Pokemon in it, but at level 7, it will knock it down 2000 each time. Will take slightly longer then then taking down 7 pokemon. But will also be much easier to take down, even more so if you leave a weak pokemon.

Aight thanks.
So another question.

Pokemon that everyone catches at the spawn at the same time has the exact same moves and IVs, and perhaps the same CPs depending on trainer level.
Does this mean if this pokemon gets evolved, all these resulting evolutions will get the same randomized moveset? Or will each one be different? Even though they will all still have the same IVs.

In Pokemon Go news, a SECOND gay porn parody is cumming soon. Spoiler tagged image below is SFW but highly crude and also hilarious. Gotta f*** 'em all!

Opened the app on a whim in bed and got a great Pinsir. They're semi-common in my city, but this is my first one over 1000CP (I'm lv19). It's 80% ~ 100% with perfect HP and Attack, and Fury Cutter + Submission. Nice addition for attacking gyms.

I asked the same thing earlier. I need hope for this Magikarp.

Managed to level up a red gym only to get beaten by someone on the new floor. Smh.

Fucking Vaporeon with Hydropump though. Hits like 75% of my Jolteon's life if I don't dodge it.

I'm starting to think there really is a swarm-like feature in the game. I caught three Squirtles today at the pier, including one that spawned at the same time as a Blastoise! If it's true that rarely Pokemon can spawn the base evolution and potentially further evolved forms can spawn, that's pretty cool.

If it's not officially in the game, I hope they do add it. Imagine getting a notification that there is a Growlithe swarm or a Heracross swarm, etc. in your vacinity.

Move set is random,

cp after evolution is based on current cp, trainer level, and IVs

IVs never change, regardless of evolutions

Tfw 2v1 chasing each others tail to claim 3 gyms. So much resources lost. Lmao where my valor people at?

I clearly saw a car of 2 mystics trying to duo water gyms.

Still got my bonus ^^b
My city has become a turf war between Mystic and Instinct. Valor confirmed casuals.

my city is blue.
red had focused on a single gym but it gets torn down every day.

despite the fact that most of the gyms cycle a bit, the one at the water tower hasn't changed for 3 weeks.like it hasn't even been attacked for the last week despite the bottom being a 1100 pidgeot.

Since I've completed my NA Pokedex, I decided to turn my attention to gyms. The amount of work I just put in to earn an extra 10 cents a day is downright embarrassing. At least I can continue to say I haven't spent a cent on this game?

Haha true that. Since I have late working hours, the first thing I do when I leave work is check for any potential gyms to join. Sometimes it's not even reachable by car so I have to get out of the car like my local skating park. Then I see all those kids skateboarding and I'm like: "please don't notice me."

So apparently I can't catch Pokemon in my apartment parking garage. Tried to catch a Bellsprout, Rhyhorn, Koffing and Drowzee and they all ran away after the first ball.

Sorry that you are banned

Is it a soft ban due to weak GPS? I wasn't driving. I went down to throw away garbage and decided to catch pokemon while walking to the garbage disposal area. Now I'm catching Pokemon in my bed no problem.

Is only bad luck but here everything is blamed on bannings

To be fair, I've been soft banned messing around with burner accounts on an Android emulator before and that's exactly what it sounds like. Of course, there's a specific way they break out (one shake, break, immediate flee), but most people are bad with details and just start panicking when they get a string of bad luck.

I discarded a bunch of Potions and my next Poké Stop gave me nothing but Potions. Am I banned?

Super banned.

The location spotting is extremely off today. It is moving me hundreds of meters away from my spot, so I'm not really at the right place ugh. Hopefully it gets better throughout the day.

Hey dudes. Show proof that Niantic even soft bans. Seriously.

I had a Pidgey run away today. There's your proof.

Really though, it is known there are automatic soft bans that get triggered once enough XP is earned in a single day, bots have proven as much. But that one dude's attempt to hit 1,000,000 in 24 hours showed it's triggered around 600,000 XP or so, which is obviously only going to happen to a legitimate player if they're spending 13+ hours straight on a highly efficient loop with constant Lures, Incense, and Lucky Eggs like he did (so basically, it's not going to happen).

So while soft bans exist, virtually every single perceived soft ban you see is either the result of blatant cheating or is just a misconstrued string of bad luck. Or one person spending basically every waking moment with every possible buff enabled on the best route possible.

But where do we actually see this? Patch notes? Niantic statement? Or are we relying on someone's hard numbers?

Why is the GPS signal so fucking bad today!!!?

It ruins the game. It puts a Pinsir in front of me, then a Patrick, Meowth, Parasect etc and they disappear because the location spotting has set me in the entirely wrong location. They run away before even throwing a fucking ball.

I better catch 1-2 new Pokemon today even with these issues.

It's never been officially said, no. But the community has done enough "research" with bots and the like (as well as the one player's heavily documented 1,000,000 attempt) to know it's absolutely a thing.

Is it just me or is the distance counting towards eggs much better the past few days? I walked roughly a kilometre and got .8 towards 3 eggs this morning. Usually it's struggle to get .5 to register

I'll check into it. Probably on Reddit ya?
I just want to make sure because people are making insane claims. I'm pretty damn sure most people who think they're soft banned are having a network error.

Yeah.

And yeah, like I said, basically no one is getting soft-banned except for actual cheaters (botters or spoofers) who have gotten lucky and didn't get perma banned. People keep running around like Chicken Little because there was a connection issue or unlucky string of escapes because they've heard accumulating enough XP can trigger a softban, not realizing they'd need like 600 evolutions across 10 lucky eggs in a single day before it would be a legitimate possibility, lol.

I can't believe it. Today I have the whole day free, and I'm walking all over the capital city, and I'm finding absolutely no new Pokemon...

I really want to get 3 new Pokemon today, so that I will be at a hundred overall. I'm looking for that Growlithe, Magmar and Omanyte that I have seen earlier.

Can someone tell me why practically every time I evolve a Pokemon, it ends up XS? Does this happen to anyone else?

Should I believe this post saying pokemon cap at L39?

But where do we actually see this? Patch notes? Niantic statement? Or are we relying on someone's hard numbers?
Niantic has never said in Ingress how they detected bots, or what were their rules to soft ban people. Obviously some have been discovered by users (the 60kmh / 30mph speed cap, the map maximum request per month, etc), mostly because they have been tweaked to no end to accommodate bots, which are always evolving.

And yes, thieves believe everyone steals. So someone thinking he's getting softbanned because three pidgeys ran away in a row is because he's actually using a map or similar. There are millions of players who would blame bad luck if pidgeys escaped as the majority have no idea about how to trigger a ban, and there are a few hundreds who would believe they were unjustly banned because of that. Someone is not playing the game as intended/correctly if they're suffering the game instead of enjoying it.

So after I spent all that time chasing Bulbas to get candy and evolving to a Venusaur Sunday night, Monday afternoon after work look who was in front of my house.

Of course I caught him on the first try...lol....then Ivy showed up later but her was only 16cp.

Also got enough to evolve to this finally

And caught 2 Squirtles so I only need two more for Blastoise, which means I will evolve him and catch one later this week.

I don't know how you do it.

Every time I see a starter nearby, I can't get it to spawn and it will despawn from nearby soon after. The game is definitely trolling me.

For some reason since last week or so my neighborhood has a decent amount of Bulbas and some Squirtles showing up everywhere. Sadly very little Charmanders....also they are not fleeing as much for me anymore.

It also helps that I discovered two really nice spots in walking distance, it always spawns like 5-6 things in a small area so I bounce back and forth between them.

In other news I have 3 10Ks right now, I expect a ton of Eevee candy in my future.

Strange I feel like it's been the worst it ever has been.

Ugh, all the nearby gyms got taken by Mystic. Somehow Valor and Instinct got all the lower level players. We from Valor just took one gym and trained it to level 10, hoping it doesn't get taken over. ;_; Instinct doesn't even have their own gym lol, kinda sad.

I'm probably only going to get one Blastoise in my lifetime and it's going to have Flash Cannon and Bite.

Yeah the appraisal on both my Wartortles are only "he's pretty decent!" lol....I just want one badly to have and stare at. I don't expect him to be stellar, my Venusaur was only 800cp when I evolved him >.>

My Charmeleon would be awesome to turn into Charizard but it's gonna be a slowwwww grind to get him, if I even have the drive to at that point lol
