Probably when I first saw the Sonic Adventure demo in my local GS. So good.

Or when I bought mine with Jet Grind Radio. I had a MASSIVE boner playing that game.

-Playing Soul Calibur for the first time and being awestruck by the overall package.

-Charmed by Chu Chu Rocket.

-Having a blast with Power Stone

-Shaking to Samba De Amigo. Best Peripheral Ever. Ballsy move by Sega US.

-Enjoying SA 1 and 2, before they were ravaged by time.

I'll have to bust out some space channel 5 before I go to sleep.

Batteries the CRISIS!
Playing a demo of Sonic Adventure in a Circuit City.

Also, as Speedpop said, playing Skies on my 'Cube. =P

Happy birthday, Dreamcast! Just one more year from now!!

Sad but true. I was planning on grabbing a DC just for SoA but the powers that be kept me from it.

Pretty much, and I didn't even own the DC. I had the GC version. :lol

PowerStone was a pretty fun game though.

And Fighters Megamix

And Marvel vs. Capcom 1

You like me, you really really like me!
Booting up Shenmue for the first time (I was in awe).

also, going online for the first time on a console was neat. I loved crushing the Laker newbies who used Kobe and Shaq all the time in NBA 2K1

Playing Virtua Tennis with friends over beers on and off for about a year. Good stuff.

That's pretty much all I played on Dreamcast - we never took it out.

At first I was like...way too early, and then realized you were talking about the American release date.

In a little while, the DC is going to have its 10 anniversary! That's just nuts.

How I love sharing my birthday with such a great console. I went out and bought it on my birthday in 99 and it was the best one I'd had at that point.

Witnessing the train wreck of a launch in had in Australia, followed by the drama of big name retailers dropping support for it a few weeks later. About six months after that the DC was dead and I was able to pick up lots of neat games in clearance bins. Best system ever.

Rush 2049, fuck yeah!

Sonic Adventure on 9/9/99 after a year long media blackout.

OMG. I can't describe how out of this world those graphics were at the time. No generation leap has been comparable, IMO.

POWERFUL!

Just played some Power Stone 2 and Virtua Tennis 4 player to commemorate the DC! 09/09/09, the time will come!

Seriously, I think we DC fans should form a religious cult(if there isn't one already):D

I remember how awesome it was that they had polygonal mouths that moved when they talked.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

that is strangely touching

Happy Birthday DC, thanks for the Soul Calibur, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Tony Hawk 2, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online, and Grandia II.

In all seriousness, more than twice as many games as I have played on my Wii.

Countless hours of SFA3, playing RE Code: Veronica for the first time, playing Soul Calibur for the first time, playing Sonice Adventure for the first time, looking at porn on my TV, playing Chu Chu Rocket online, so many memories...

First holy fuck! moment was the orca sprint in Sonic Adventure.

Still my all time favourite console. So many classics, so many awesome accessories. Wii be damned, my fishing rod with bass fishing makes you look like a pretender.

I remember the day I got my dreamcast... 9/9/99. It was a thursday. I remember because I skipped school that day to pick up my preordered dreamcast along with Sonic Adventure. I remember it was a thursday because my mom also let me skip the following day of school, so I had a 4 day weekend.

I didn't buy a VMU. However, I beat Sonic Adventure that weekend. In one sitting.

It is probably my all time favorite gaming memory.

EDIT: The only memory which can possibly compete is the day I got my sega CD. That was fucking MAGICAL. But I'll save that story for another day...

The DUKE has met its match!

Anyone know of a good VGA>Component converter that keeps progressive modes active? I'd really like to capture good quality video off the Dreamcast, but my capture card is component. I've gone through two now. The first cut off 29 pixels on the left, and the second one is just some shitty one that kills black levels and makes the signal 480i :|

Those textures were actually taken from photos Sonic Team snapped when they were in South America researching locations.

Interesting, didn't know that.

I miss not being able to find a memory card anywhere on launch day, so I had to keep restarting Sonic Adventure. Good times.

Fucking agreed. I bought a DC keyboard just so I could text chat with other players. Though the custom emoticons you could create had a certain charm to them.

Nothing in the genre has come close to capturing my attention like PSO did. What. a. game.
