Hate to do this but I guess I gotta at this point. Negative Feedback for Hikami. He was selling a white ps4, we agreed on a price and I sent him the money with his word that he'll ship it out the next day with a tracking number. This was April 25th. He's completely disappeared off the map since then, he logged in exactly once on May 1st with no reply to my PM's or my Email. He's done business with others here such as cloggerdude with no problems and this is the longest he's ever gone without posting on GAF so I would LIKE to assume that something happened in real life but I don't know that. I think better of people so I'll rescind the negative feedback if that's possible if he reappears with a good story of why this happened. I don't really feel like I got scammed or ripped off here since he just sorta fell off the face of the earth, he was active in the persona thread but all this for just $165 when he just sold a 3DS and bought a controller from someone?

In that case I'm still in need of a PS4.

Seems abnormal. I would wait on adding that negative feedback to the excel sheet until he shows activity. Maybe something happened or there was a family emergency.

You can still dispute friends and family, it's just not as likely to be successful to win the claim.

I'd still give it a shot to try and get your money back, but certainly come up with a good explanation of why you want to dispute the payment.

I've had F&F transactions reversed before, so it's definitely not unheard of.

Ebay question here.

I bought two items from the same seller. I emailed him previously and he said he'd combine shipping (said I'd just have to pay shipping for one item), but now that it's time for me to pay, Ebay is not allowing me to ask the seller for a quote, saying that the seller doesn't combine shipping, and the seller hasn't responded to my emails since I bought the items. It has only been about 2 days, but 2 days is how long I have before an unpaid item case can be opened against me.

Am I screwed? Do I just pay the extra shipping and hope the seller refunds me?

You can hope that the seller refunds you or you can request the seller to submit an invoice to you with the updated price.

Yeah, I tried the latter and Ebay wouldn't let me saying the seller doesn't combine shipping, despite what he told me via email.

Unless he specifically mentioned it in his listing, he's not obligated to give you a combined shipping discount even though he may have implied it.

Did you use the word "discount" when asking about combined shipping? If you didn't, then it could be implied that he would just ship your items together, but you still pay the full cost, instead of receiving two packages.

I always make sure to say combined shipping discount just in case something like that happens, and never had a problem yet. Semantics, how I hate thee. T___T

Hopefully, the guy is just busy at the moment, and will handle it for you in the end, but sounding like it's unlikely. :*(

Hey guys, not sure what to do so I thought I'd post this. I bought an Android phone from the B/S/T thread. The phone was rooted and the seller did specify so. I didn't really care. So anyway, I gave it to my cousin and he connected it to a service for use. He then messages his friends and they're able to see his messages just fine. This is where it get weird... When his friends replied to my cousin, my cousin did NOT receive the messages. Then sometime later, someone replied to my the friends messages saying things like the N word and other things. All while my cousin did not receive the messages.

My cousin found out about it because his friends were upset, telling him, "why did you say that to me", etc. In the end I cancelled the Sim and got a new number and used another phone.

What do you guys think? The seller was snooping around invading privacy or... ? I asked the carrier if 2 people could get the same phone number, they said it's impossible. So I don't know what's going on. Who knows how far they went.

There are so many ways things could have gone wrong on an Android device, particularly a used and rooted one. Did you at least do a factory reset/recovery? Ideally you'd want to flash back to stock.

I did factory reset as soon as I got the phone. I did google around to see if I can go back to stock and according to my googling I can't unless I have the original phone version backup.

Just to be clear, I don't really care about the phone, it's not in use anymore. Mostly worried about my privacy.

I asked my cousin if his friends were messing around with him but he physically saw the messages he did not send pop up on their friends phone.

The phone might have had a compromised IMEI. This won't solve a compromised IMEI but did you wipe the phone before you used it? Also, did you try using the new SIM and new number on that phone? The carrier might be able to tel you if the IMEI is compromised if you call them.

Hope everything works out.

In the end, if you've already contacted eBay, and they told you know, trying to file a dispute may not work out anyways in the end as if it's not specifically in the listing, he's not obligated to do so. Since it sounds like eBay is already siding with them about it, it'd be difficult to win that dispute in the end.

If he does indeed renege on the combined shipping, and you don't pay, you would more than likely be the one in the wrong, so you may just have to eat the extra shipping to avoid any headaches if he doesn't get back to you.

I've had times where sellers didn't even offer combined shipping, nor have I ever asked for it, and after I had paid, they refunded me the difference on their own, so that could also happen. Of course, may not necessarily happen in this case, but it's possible.

I wiped it as soon as I got it. Phone isn't in use anymore. As far as the IMEI, you think that's possible? I input the IMEI number on the Ting.com service to see if it is available for service. I don't think it was me who compromised the IMEI, or did I?
