Digital Homicide is seeking Legal Action aganist Valve

First i'd like to briefly respond to Doug Lombardi's official statement about Digital Homicide and its owners. I'd like to give some context to his offficial statement "Valve has stopped doing business with Digital Homicide for being hostile to Steam customers." What has actually transpired was a lack of resolution from Steam in regards to moderation of their platform which might sound like a tough job to do, but coming from a company that brags its profitability per employee is higher than google, it just shows a reckless disregard for for the well being of their community for profits. We submitted numerous reports and sent multiple emails in regards to individuals making personal attacks, harassment, and more on not only us but on other Steam customers who were actually interested in our products. The lawsuit that was submitted in regards to a handful of Steam users has been labeled by the media and now by Doug Lombardi's(a Valve representative) statement as "being hostile to Steam users" in general which is incorrect. The lawsuit recently filed is solely in regards to individuals where no resolution was able to be obtained from Steam to provide a safe environment for us to conduct business. By removing us for defending ourselves against harassment Steam is openly stating you cannot defend yourself from examples like these:

A comment from a steam user who was reported a multitude of times with over 2,000 posts over 18 months and never taken care of for ongoing harassment.

Here is another user who was flagged and a moderator actually banned someone for disruptive behavior but the original poster wants me to kill myself, mentions my family and has a moderation flag.

When someone bothers you on say a platform like Facebook and you find the need to ban them, the Facebook response after you ban is "Sorry you had this experience" and then that person is removed from being able to post on your page. Steam's stance is what just happened to us. By removing us they have taken the stance that users have the right to harass me, tell me I should kill myself, and insult my family . If I try to defend myself against said actions then I lose my family's income. If it wasn't for 2 years of experience of dealing with Steam on a regular basis, this disgusting stance would seem shocking to me. The only thing that prevented me seeking legal counsel for a long list of breach of contracts, interference with business, and anti-trust issues was the fear of losing my family's income. Since that has been taken away I am seeking legal representation. The case will benefit from a long list of organized documentation of events that have happened over the past 2 years including dates, screenshots, emails, and more on over 100 infractions in need of litigation. Legal counsel interested in our case can contact us at support@digitalhomicide.ninja

Sue me if old.

I wonder how they can afford this though. I remember them asking for donations so they could afford their lawsuit against Jim Sterling.

This is like the world's smallest nation picking a nuclear war with like one of the giants. Except they don't have nukes, or a standing army even.

Do they actually have a lawyer filing these lawsuits? What kind of lawyer is this fucking stupid to try and file these?

Romine is representing himself. The only thing these legal pursuits are costing him is time (well, there may be some associated administrative costs -- no lawyer is involved is my point).

LOL!

Jesus Christ these guys are beyond stupid. I can't wait until the amount they are asking for comes out, can't be less than $50 million if I had to take a guess.

The name sounded familiar, so I looked up and I realized that this are the guys which release lots of shovelware which I actually buy since thanks to conversion rate, I earned money buying them after selling their steam trading cards.

Why steam removed their games from the store?

So I'm confused here. Digital Homicide is clearly in the right aren't they?

Erm. if you go into a casino threatening to throw fists with anyone how even looks at you, and then the bouncers kick you out, what recourse do you have?

Oh God, they're representing themselves?!?! Judges LOVE that!

Why steam removed their games from the store?

Because they were suing 100 Steam users and Valve decided to remove their games because they're being hostile towards Steam users.

Not only did they threaten to sue over 100 users who had left bad reviews of their Games on the Steam Store, they sent a Subpoena to Valve to release the personal info of the users.

Valve said "Fuck you.", and took them off Steam for threatening their customers, rightfully so. Mind you purchasing them is the only thing that's been removed, if you previously purchased it, you still keep it in your library (though I honestly don't see why any sane person would do so).

Why steam removed their games from the store?

The most recent of their many crusades was to sue Steam users who reviewed their games poorly. These aren't even their only frivolous lawsuit, but suing anonymous Steam users and demanding Valve help identify them crossed a line.

I feel sorry that the Romine brothers are dragging their family through this because they have some ridiculous ego trip. While I'd normally hope that they come to their senses and learn that not every action needs a reaction, they've had more than enough chances to get out already.

I hope Valve teaches them a much needed life lesson by burying them like EA buried Tim Langdell.

EDIT: I misread. Apparently they're only seeking legal counsel to sue, and are not actually in the process of suing Valve.

No, they don't, hence the last sentences in the last paragraph. They even had a crowdfunding page set up when they made their attempt at suing Jim Sterling. That failed miserably as well.

When are these morons going to give up? It's just sad at this point.

These guys are a bunch of fucking idiots! Good luck suing Valve. Can't wait till Valve wins and these guys have to pay their lawyer fees. Thank God for Jim fucking Sterling son for exposing these fucks and giving us so much entertainment over the years!

Valve has more attorneys than Digital Homicide has collective brain cells. Suing Valve, acting as your owm counsel; this is folly of the highest order.

Thanks for the answer, I don't really care about them, I already sold the trading cards, I was never interested on playing them since the thumbnails already made the games look like utter trash.

Now with your post, I realize that the devs were utter trash too

If you have actually visited any forums jim has featured on steam, it is a pretty big issue. one of the games I saw the dev was like "haha it was funny, I love Jim" most likely as out fear.
