Update (studio, not a game):

Leap Experience Pioneers (LXP) are an in-house games developer for Microsoft based in the US. Although they had been in existence for some years they thought it was the right time to define their identity. Something that all parts of their business could relate to, but more importantly, be inspired by. They considered themselves pioneers (as their name suggests) and wanted to encapsulate the the spirit of fronteering Americans - combining a cowboy with an astronaut with attitude. We then set about creating some short animated logo stings and brand guideline document. - See more at: http://www.territorystudio.com/work/....HFrgBuyl.dpuf

On March 6, 2014, Microsoft filed a trademark via the USPTO for "LXP". It entered the Trademark Reporting and Monitoring System (TRAM) yesterday, on March 10. It's a basic 1(b) Intent-to-Use filing for game software, and reads as following:

Now, this could certainly be a smaller title like Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death. Been a few of that kind recently. But could also be something bigger, for Xbox One, of course. The mention of astronaut in the mark description tells at least that this in one way or another concerns space.

I find this particular application interesting because it features a "logo" from the get go, which is quite rare for Microsoft. They didn't provide a logo in conjunction with the recent applications for "Tentacles: Enter the Mind" or "Throne Together" anyway. Well well, let the speculation begin.

Neat.

Looks like they are aiming to create a brand. That's one of the few occasions Microsoft trademarks the logo.

Edit: My statement still works.

Edit: beaten.....

What are the chances this is that oft rumoured space based horror title that was in the works?

I know Black Tusk were the ones rumoured to be working on it, but it's possible MS moved it over to another developer as Shangheist started to come together?

Don't make me excited, it's probably a mobile or Win8 game, if even.

So it's a studio then, not a game (though could be that as well). Searched for LXP but found very little. Thanks, Kifimbo.

Looks more like a pilot outfit, helmet for high altitude flight.

League of eXtraordinary Pilots?

(cool logo)

EDIT: nvm, lttp as usual.

Yeah, it's probably WP8 or Win 8, but I'd love for it to that space horror title.

Anyway,

Territory create ingame assets for Killzone: Mercenary

Over the past year, Territory worked with Guerrilla Cambridge on the latest release in the Killzone franchise, specifically for the PlayStation Vita platform.

Working with the game development and creative services teams, Territory created all the ingame cutscenes for mission briefings, weapon tutorials, credits sequence, and animated game and studio logos.

The game is due for release Sep 6, 2013.

Please read the thread carefully.

LXP is a first party studio, not a video game.

I hope they're producing bigger games.

Thread title needs update I think :) It's not a game.
Yeah, an update to the title would be good. I provided an update in the OP, but I can't change the title so that's for a mod to do.

Just wanted to post that. Cool. More Kinect games are needed - or more games in the veins of Spark etc.

2 years is a long time. So I won't assume that they're a Kinect studio just yet. Look at Black Tusk, they started out with a Kinect game and that got binned.

Might have scrapped a few projects along the way. I just hope they are living up to their name and logo. Would be sad if they released a mediocre game.
