Telltale Games reveals Poker Night

http://www.telltalegames.com/store/pokernight

Prepare for a different kind of poker night in a very different kind of club. In Poker Night at the Inventory, you'll deal with Penny Arcade's clever, cunning Tycho, Team Fortress 2's hulking Heavy, Homestar Runner's self-proclaimed "awesome icon" Strong Bad and the hyperkinetic "rabbity-thing" from Sam & Max. These characters come together in ways some never thought possible, in a setting few would have predicted. You'll experience a new style of poker, particularly when hands don't go the way of the other fiery competitors at the table.

So are we talking real poker or that Texas Hold 'em bullshit that everybody seems to have gone retarded over in the past five years?

Jake, I want to hear the story behind this eventually. Also that preorder coupon doesn't seem to be showing up.

Intriguing.

Are there Heavy voice clips

There should be, that was the main bulletpoint of their other card game release.

EDIT: Having a lot of different lines for every character, that is.

So it was a card game!
:lol :lol

I'm sure it'll be a good game for poker fans, though.
Probably not, actually, as most poker games don't come close on the AI side to be worth playing for most poker fans. You may as well be playing the fake money games on Pokerstars or something.

One game came close, Daniel Negreanu's Stacked, but that's about it.

It's kind of weird seeing the different graphical art-styles next to each other

When the Heavy wins a large hand, I expect him to say

"It cost you four hundred thousand dollars to play that hand.... for twelve seconds."

:)

It's Poker
and Heavy from Team Fortress 2.
and it costs 4,50
and there's the premise of violence

Bought it and I'm not even sure what is it.

Edit: I wonder if there's TF2 hats/props with it, and what are them. I really should read stuffs before blindly buying.

Yes, heaven forbid people play poker games that actually require skill.
Ironic being that Texas Hold 'Em requires the least amount of skill out of any other poker game...Hence the popularity. Poker Dice requires more skill.

Join The Heavy, Tycho, Max, and Strong Bad as you get a glimpse few get to lay their eyes on in Poker Night at the Inventory.

We teased you with our trailer last week and many of you guessed what the game would be - it was so hard to not just spill the beans.

Poker Night at the Inventory is more than just another poker title since the characters featured in the game have so much unique personality. Watching Max react to winning a hand and in turn The Heavy's gun is a sight to be seen. Anybody that knows Max can anticipate how he would react to acquiring such a perfect tool of destruction.

You'll be able to get your first look at Poker Night at the Inventory this weekend at the Penny Arcade Expo! Make your way over to the Telltale Games booth (#3509) and check out what we've been working on!

Poker Dice is lame. In any case hopefully they include multiple types of poker to make everyone happy.

Kotaku said:
"We've had the idea for some time of exploring the idea of what video characters do when they're not ‘on the clock' in the games we play," explained Telltale CEO Dan Connors via the game's announcement. "We pitched the idea to friends in the industry and it really resonated. We all had a great time imagining what these guys would banter about while slinging cards – from there Poker Night at The Inventory was born."

The Steamworks-powered game has "more than a few surprises" still up its sleeve, according to its creators.

Tycho in the engine's not ready for prime time yet, which is why he's not in screenshots quite yet.

As for language, the game will either be bleeped or have an option to bleep.

It's single player. The games about playing poker/hanging out with all of those characters with their personalities intact. There's more dialog in this game than in a Sam & Max episode, both for poker playing and for the ambient conversations that spring up and roll around the table as the game goes on.
