ASSASSIN'S CREED REVELATIONS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Upon being forced to stab his ally Lucy Stillman, Desmond Miles has fallen into a coma, and has been returned to the Animus to maintain his consciousness. There, he falls into an
Animus back door called the Black Room, where he hopes to reassemble his shattered mind - and therefore reawaken from the coma - by locating a key memory connecting himself,
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze together. To do so, he begins reliving the later memories of Ezio.

After having freed Italy from the Templar threat, the Mentor of the Assassin Order, Ezio Auditore questions his life as an Assassin, wondering how it would have been if he had never
been one. Ezio thus sets out on a pilgrimage to his ancestor's homeland of Masyaf, which he discovers has been overrun by the Templars. There, he finds an ancient artifact, which is
locked away, and can only be opened with five seals.

The search for these seals takes him to Constantinople, where he finds out that there is an army of Templars forming in the city - threatening to destabilize the region. Ezio must follow
in the footsteps of his spiritual mentor and forefather, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, which will lead him to discovery and revelation.

THE ASSASSINS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Assassin Order, also known as Assassin Brotherhood and Hashshashin, was an organized order of assassins and sworn enemies of the Templars, with whom the fought a
continuous, secret war, throughout the entirety of recorded history. Whereas the Templars strove for the power to save humanity from itself by controlling free will, the Assassin
Order fought to ensure the survival of free will, as it allowed for the progression of new ideas and the growth of individuality. The Assassins, if not the order itself, had existed
since at least 456 BC, throughout the Roman era, the Middle Ages, the Italian Renaissance, and into the 21st Century.

The order believed in a strong set of values that strictly governed their way of life. This Creed consisted of three tenets: "Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent. "Hide in
plain sight, be one with the crowd.""Never compromise the Brotherhood." These tenets permeated every aspect of the Assassins' daily life, as well as their fight for "peace in all
things." The Assassins carried out their duties through political, strategic assassination, in the hope that killing one individual would lead to the salvation of thousands.
The Assassins believed that they fought on the behalf of those who did not possess the abilities, resources, or knowledge to speak out against those who abused their power.

Despite their service to those who would otherwise suffer, the Assassins were still feared by the general populace, due mainly to their method of ensuring peace. The Assassins
were most feared due to their terrifying reputation for taking life in public before many witnesses - so as to bring fear into the hearts of those who might abuse their power or
corrupt the innocent - before vanishing into the crowd without a trace. To aid in this, the Assassins used a particularly efficient weapon for assassinations: the Hidden Blade,
a single thrust from which could end the life of its victim.

THE TEMPLARS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Templars, also known as the Knights Templar, were a monastic military order-turned-corporate giant formed during the prehistoric era. The Templars sought to create a perfect
world, although the means by which they sought to do so - through force and control - were questionable. Because of this, they were the sworn enemies of the Assassin Order, who
believed that mankind should always have the ability to choose; to have free will, even if it means a flawed humanity. With these conflicting ideologies, the two groups have fought
over the course of thousands of years for the control and fate of humanity.

Their system of belief changed greatly upon the discovery of the Pieces of Eden; they began to speculate that God was a myth and this led the Order to become atheistic, although
they publicly maintained the pretense of following the Christian ways so as to not lose the support of the Church. By their reasoning, with no afterlife or ultimate punishment or
reward after death, there was no reason to oblige notions of morality or ethics: the end always justified the means, no matter how heinous those means were. They thought that
only this life was important, rather than preparing for a thought-to-be nonexistent next life. With so many lower class people kept in line by the promise of an afterlife, and so many
upper class men blissfully ignoring such ideals, the Templars vowed to make a better world; one of lasting peace, no matter what the cost.

As time progressed, the Templars interest in the Pieces of Eden became more about seeking the power and domination that the artifacts offered. Their goals changed as they sought
to control and unify the entire world using the Pieces of Eden to create a "New World Order".

THE OTTOMANS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Sublime Ottoman State, also known as the Ottoman Empire, was a Sunni Muslim and Turkic dominion that ruled the Eastern Mediterranean for an excess of six hundred years.
In 1299, the Byzantines had lost most of the Anatolian provinces, and as a result, Turkish Anatolia was divided into numerous Ghazi emirates. One of these Ghazi emirates was led
by Osman I, which the empire would be later be entitled by.

After Osman's death, the Ottomans rapidly conquered large territories in Anatolia and Greece previously owned by the Byzantine Empire. Their victory at the Battle of Kosovo
ended Serbian power in the region and paved the entrance to Europe. In time, the Ottomans had conquered all the lands around the Byzantine Capital. The grandson of Mehmed
was known as Mehmed II al Fatih (the Conqueror). He reorganized the military and state of the Ottoman Sultanate and prepared the final effort to conquer the Byzantine capital,
Constantinople. In order to overcome the attack, the Byzantine Empire made an attempt of allegiance with the Pope and the Catholic Kingdoms by negotiating its conversion to
Catholicism. The conversion was not accepted, and Constantinople fell under the Ottoman power in 1453, converting the city in the capital of the Ottoman Empire.

untitled10ks8f.png
THE BYZANTINES
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Byzantine Empire (or Byzantium), also referred to as the Byzantines, was the predominantly Greek-speaking remnant of the Eastern Roman Empire throughout Late Antiquity &
the Middle Ages. Known simply as the Roman Empire by its contemporaries, the Empire was centered on the capital of Byzantium (later renamed Constantinople under Emperor
Constantine) and was ruled by emperors in direct to the ancient Roman Emperors after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.

Without support from other Christian nations after years of mistrust, the Byzantine territories were being taken piece by piece because of the rising Ottoman Empire. Eventually,
every Byzantine territory was taken by the Ottomans and Constantinople was surrounded. Finally, after a last stand in the defense of Constantinople by the last emperor,
Constantine XI Palaeologos, the capital and empire (technically) fell in 1453 due to the decisive siege conducted by Sultan Mehmed II. Although a few minor states survived,
they quickly fell to the Ottomans in the following years.

ASSASSIN'S CREED
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Desmond Miles, a bartender, is kidnapped by the company Abstergo Industries for use as a test subject in the "Animus", a device that can stimulate the recall of ancestral memories.
Abstergo intends to put Desmond in the device to recall the role of his ancestor, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, a member of the Assassin Brotherhood during 1191 as part of the Third Crusade
in the Holy Land. Desmond has trouble adjusting to the device, but eventually relives Altaïr's exploits over the next several days. The game then primarily takes Altaïr's point-of-view,
with occasional swaps to Desmond, due to glitches in the Animus.

The memories of Altaïr that Desmond experiences start in the year 1191: Richard I of England has just recaptured the port city of Acre from the Saracens. With a base of operations
established, the Crusaders prepare to march south. Their true target is Jerusalem, which they intend to recapture for Christianity. However the Saracen forces are massing in Arsuf,
intending to ambush the Crusaders and prevent them from reaching Jerusalem. These war maneuvers have left the rest of the Holy Land wide open. While Richard and Saladin battle
one another, the men left to govern in their stead have begun taking advantage of their newfound positions of power. Exploitation, manipulation, and provocation rule the day.

Altaïr breaks all three tenets of the Assassin's Creed ("Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent," "Hide in plain sight" and "Do not compromise the Brotherhood") within the
opening minutes of gameplay to attempt to kill de Robert De Sable (the grand master of the Templars and sworn enemy of the Assassins), but fails. In the commotion, his fellow
assassins are killed and wounded. When Altaïr returns to the Assassins' stronghold at Masyaf with apologies, a survivor of the attack comes back with the artifact and curses of Altaïr's
arrogance.

Since Altaïr failed his mission, and for other offenses, Altaïr is demoted to Uninitiated, the lowest rank in the Assassin Order. The leader of the Assassins, Al Mualim, offers him an
opportunity to redeem himself. Altaïr must venture out into the Holy Land and assassinate nine men said to be exacerbating and exploiting the hostilities created by the Third Crusade.
In doing so, he will stabilize the region, helping the Order's goal of securing peace in the Holy Land.

Altaïr completes each assassination, learning how each target is connected to Robert and the Templars, and how together they aim to end the Crusade and place the Holy Land under
their own control. With men on both sides killed, he discovers that de Sable's last ploy is to attempt to unite Christian and Muslim against their new common enemy, the Assassins
themselves. Altaïr defeats de Sable, and discovers that Al Mualim is himself a member of the Templars, and used Altaïr to kill the other members so he could keep the treasure for
himself.

Altaïr quickly returns to Masyaf to accost his master, who reveals the truth: the Piece of Eden creates illusions. He denounces religion and other seemingly supernatural events as
illusions caused by it, then states his intention to use the artifact to compel mankind into a brainwashed state and in doing so bring an end to all conflict. Altaïr is eventually able to see
through deceptions created by the artifact to kill Al Mualim. When Altaïr recovers the artifact, the Piece of Eden activates, showing a holographic view of the world with numerous
locations of other Pieces of Eden marked across the globe.

When Altair's memory is complete, Desmond learns that Abstergo is a modern-day front of the Templars, and they are already seeking other artifacts known as the "Pieces of Eden" at
locations identified in Altaïr's memory. He further learns that the modern-day Assassins had tried to rescue him before the memory was complete but had failed. Desmond was to be
killed after completion, but a researcher named Lucy Stillman saves him from death.

Though Desmond remains trapped in the Abstergo laboratory, his experience in the Animus has created a "bleeding effect" of Altaïr's life in his own, allowing Desmond to use Altaïr's
"eagle vision", which, in turn, allows him to see strange messages painted on the walls of his room and the floor of the lab. The messages all deal with various forms of the end of the
world from different cultures, including several references to the date December 21, 2012, the date that Abstergo plans to launch a satellite that will "permanently end the war". It is
hinted at that this will be by the same method that Al Mualim hypnotized Masyaf, only on a larger scale. The game ends with Desmond wondering what these images all mean and who
could have drawn them.

ALTAIR'S CODEX
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Codex was a thirty-page, personal journal written by Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, following the death of Al Mualim. It documents his explorations into the Apple of Eden he possessed, &
it offers an autobiographical view of his life & various assassination-related articles. During the Mongol siege of Masyaf in 1257, Altaïr bequeathed the Codex & five seals to Niccolò
Polo for safe keeping, two days later however, a Mongol raiding party intercepted Niccolò & his brother fleeing, & took possession of the Codex. Years later, the Codex passed back
into the possession of the Polo's when Niccolò's son, Marco, retrieved it from the court of Genghis Khan. Marco in turn handed it to the Assassin Dante Alighieri. Passed into the safe
-keeping of Dante's apprentice, Domenico Auditore, the Codex was eventually, & deliberately, broken apart & scattered whilst aboard a ship in Otranto harbour, so as to
prevent its capture by drunken pirates hired by the Templars.

The Assassins then attempted to bring the pages of the Codex together, but by 1476 were only successful in locating 6 pages. In this year, however, Ezio Auditore da Firenze took
up his father's duty as an Assassin &, by 1499, had succeeded in locating & bringing together all 30 pages scattered across Italy. Each page was encrypted, & the only
persons capable of deciphering it were Ezio's father Giovanni Auditore, & Ezio's friend, the artist & inventor, Leonardo da Vinci. Hidden in the Codex was a prediction of the
arrival of a "prophet" who would bring together two Pieces of Eden to open the Vault, as well as a map of the world marked with the locations of various Vaults. By the early 21st
Century, the Codex pages had once again been separated; many pages resided in the hands of private collectors, likely Templars, whilst some were on display in public museums.

An image gallery of the codex pages can be viewed here

ASSASSIN'S CREED II
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Assassin's Creed II begins immediately after the events of the first game in 2012; Desmond Miles is still trapped by Abstergo Industries (the modern-day face of the Knights Templar)
after being forced to use the Animus device to revisit genetic memories of the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, and has discovered prophetic warnings from Subject 16 (a previous captive)
describing the end of the world. He is soon rescued by Lucy Stillman, a mole for the Assassins within Abstergo, who takes him to meet two other Assassins, historian Shaun Hastings &
computer expert Rebecca Crane. They request that Desmond use their version of the Animus, the Animus 2.0, to relive memories of another Assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, to train
Desmond in the ways of the Assassins through the "Bleeding Effect" of the Animus, but to also help them search for the Pieces of Eden.

Ezio's memories begin during the Renaissance in the 15th century, approximately 300 years after Altaïr’s time. Ezio is 17-years-old when he discovers that his family was betrayed by a
close friend of his father’s in the midst of a political 'coup d'etat' plot. Ezio’s father’s final instructions lead him to a hidden room in the family home with a chest containing the clothing &
weapons of an Assassin. Ezio is ultimately unable to save his brothers and father from said betrayal and all three are convicted of treason and hanged.

Ezio flees the city with his mother and sister to the safety of his uncle Mario's villa in the countryside. Mario assists Ezio in discovering the people behind the conspiracy, the search
leading Ezio from Florence, to San Gimignano, Forlì, Venice and eventually to Rome. As he identifies and assassinates more and more political figures, Ezio also gains several allies,
including Niccolò Machiavelli and Leonardo da Vinci.

Ezio eventually identifies the mastermind of the plot: the Spaniard Rodrigo Borgia, who ultimately sought to bring down the Medici family and take control of various portions of Italy.
Ezio tracks Rodrigo Borgia to Venice and discovers Borgia has obtained the Piece of Eden known as the "Apple," a piece that Altaïr possessed almost three centuries prior. Borgia has
been researching the knowledge surrounding the Pieces of Eden extensively and believes himself to be a prophet named in the documentation of the pieces, which would ultimately
lead him and other Templars to a location known as "The Vault", which is believed to contain powerful information and more Pieces of Eden.

Ezio and Borgia duel and when Ezio gains the upper hand, guards appear and begin to move the fight into the favor of Borgia. The allies that Ezio has made over the years arrive shortly
after and they defeat Borgia, who flees for fear of his life, leaving the Apple behind. The allies and friends of Ezio finally reveal their common trait — that they are all members of the
Assassins, including the great Niccolò Machiavelli. They induct Ezio into the Order, informing him that they believe him to be the actual prophet who will lead the Assassins, not the
Templars, to the Vault.

Desmond takes short breaks from the Animus and during one is tested by Lucy to see if the bleeding effect has been working. Desmond is able to demonstrate all of Ezio’s skills, indicating
that he has absorbed years worth of abilities in only a matter of hours. During this break, however, Desmond suffers a strange hallucination which returns him to the body of Altaïr in Acre.
During the memory, Altaïr makes love to Maria, a Templar, and Desmond is confused to find that after Altaïr leaves, the memory stays behind with Maria.

Throughout the genetic memories, as Ezio, Desmond discovers multiple glyphs placed on various landmarks that are only visible to someone using the Animus. The glyphs are found to be
the same ones drawn on Desmond’s bedroom wall in Abstergo, and analysis reveals that they contain computer code, hidden in the Animus. It is ultimately discovered that Subject 16
hacked the Animus and placed the glyphs within the memories himself, which were carried over to the new Animus when Lucy loaded the information she had recovered at Abstergo. Each
glyph contained a great number of historical artworks, photographs, and messages, past and present, implicating a great number ofprominent events and figures with the Templars, and
Pieces of Eden.

Desmond returns to the Animus and the team finds that many of the following memories are corrupted. They are able to begin again but only years after the fight between the Assassins
and Borgia. The memories restart in 1499 and the team discovers that Borgia gained influence and power in the Catholic Church, ultimately becoming Pope Alexander VI. Ezio and his allies
have searched long and hard and collected all thirty pages of the Codex (from Altair's journal) and discover through it that the Vault lies in Rome, specifically under the Vatican. They realize
that the Papal Staff is another Piece of Eden and Borgia is hoping to use it to achieve access to the Vault.

Ezio travels to the Vatican and attempts to assassinate Borgia. However, Borgia uses the Staff against Ezio who retaliates with the Apple. Ezio corners Borgia and strikes him down, but
cannot come to kill him, as he knows that will not bring back his family. Ezio proves himself to be the Prophet when in his hands, the Apple and Staff open the Vault. Inside the Vault, he
finds not Pieces of Eden but an empty room and a holographic figure named Minerva. She claims that she brought Ezio to her so that almost six hundred years later, Desmond and his
allies would hear her words through the Animus.

Minerva explains that she and her race were part of an advanced society that settled on Earth before a celestial event that destroyed most of the life on Earth. The remaining members of
her species rebuilt the world as best they could and created humans in their own image. The two races lived side by side for a time before eventually coming to war. The humans seemingly
won and those remaining of the advanced race sealed themselves in temples around the world, hoping to prevent the same disaster that had destroyed most of their kind from occurring
once more. As Minerva finishes, she speaks to Desmond by name and informs him that she has done all she needs to and the rest remains up to him & his allies.

The memory ends and Desmond awakens in the present to find that Abstergo has located and begun attacking the Assassins as Shaun and Rebecca pull him out of the Animus. Desmond is
given a hidden blade by Lucy and the two run downstairs to stop the guards as Shaun and Rebecca pack up their equipment. With the skills he absorbed from Ezio, Desmond is able to
dispatch the forces that have been sent against them.

The group vacates the hideout and head north to a cabin where, according to Lucy, they should be safe for some time. As they drive, Lucy prepares to review the tapes of Desmond’s latest
session, noting how the situation has escalated dramatically and how Minerva’s words proved everything she was afraid of. She theorizes that Minerva was discussing the Earth’s geomagnetic
reversal, which could have detrimental effects on the planet. Rebecca prepares the Animus for Desmond to re-enter as Lucy speculates there may be more to discover in his memories.

THE BATTLE OF FORLI
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Battle of Forli comprises of the first of the two "corrupted memories" of the Animus (DNA Sequence 12). It involves Niccolò Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza fighting alongside Ezio
Auditore throughout Forli, in order to protect a Piece of Eden from the Orsi brothers and the Templars. It contains six new missions, and a "Special Memory" where Ezio can use the
Flying Machine over Forli.

Ezio met with Machiavelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Mario Auditore in Venice, in order to study the Apple of Eden they had recently recovered from Rodrigo Borgia. After discovering the
great power it possessed, the group decided to seal it away in the citadel in Forlì, which was held by one of their allies, Caterina Sforza. Ezio set off for the city to speak with her, but
shortly after he arrived, he discovered that the city had been occupied by the Orsi brothers, who had been hired by the Templars. Ezio infiltrated the city and escorted Caterina and her
bodyguards into the safety of the Rocca di Ravaldino, in order to attempt to retake the city.

Though they successfully held the citadel, the Orsi brothers revealed that they had kidnapped two of Caterina's children, who Ezio is promptly sent to rescue. Upon freeing both children
and assassinating Ludovico Orsi, Ezio returns to discover that the Apple had been stolen from Caterina in his absence.

Ezio tracked down and killed Checco Orsi, who had been attempting to flee with the Piece of Eden, but was stabbed near-fatally while doing so. As he passed out, the retrieved Apple of
Eden rolled away from him, and was picked up by a black-robed figure with a missing finger.

Ezio later awoke in Caterina's care, but quickly remembered that he needed to find the man who had taken the Apple. Caterina advised him to check the churches, as his description of
the thief sounded like one of the monks from the nearby countryside. Ezio eventually learned the name of the monk, Girolamo Savonarola, who studied in Florence.

BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Bonfire of the Vanities is the latter of two downloadable contents announced by Ubisoft. The DLC begins in the southern quarter of Florence previously sealed off and revolves around
the monk Savonarola, who is controlling the city in absence of the Medici. Using the Piece of Eden; which he stole from a critically wounded Ezio Auditore after his confrontation with
Checco Orsi, Savonarola was able to control the city’s nine most influential citizens, and use them for his own means. The DLC offers several new additions to the game, including ten
new missions, a new maneuver (the Sprint Jump) which allows Ezio to jump twice as far as normal, but only in the southern part of the city of Florence, and access to the three Templar
Lairs (if the Bonfire of the Vanities and Secret Locations DLC is purchased for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, which were previously Limited Edition exclusives); the Palazzo Medici, Santa
Maria dei Frari and Arsenal Shipyard.

The first mission is when Ezio meets Niccolò Machiavelli in the Oltrarno District in Florence. Over the next 9 missions, Ezio needs to assassinate Savonarola's lieutenants to free the people.
In some of the missions you need to assassinate the target without being seen, and the best way to do this is by using the hidden gun to attract the targets attention. Once Ezio had killed
all of his lieutenants, Ezio needed to take the Apple from Savonarola. Using a throwing knife, Ezio was able to knock the Apple from the monk's hands, and retrieve it from one of Rodrigo
Borgia's guards. In the last mission of the sequence, Ezio sees Savonarola being burned at the stake. Ezio tells the citizens that no-one deserves to die in such a painful way, and he
assassinates him before he could suffer. He then gives the people of Florence a speech about how they should follow their own path.

TEMPLAR LAIRS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Originally exclusive to the limited editions of Assassin's Creed II, the Templar Lair Pack was eventually included free along with the Bonfire of the Vanities DLC. The Templar Lair Pack
consisted of 3 secret Templar locations Ezio had to infiltrate or explore.

The Palazzo Medici was the palace of the Medici family in the Italian city of Florence. During the Renaissance, the Assassin Ezio Auditore rescued Lorenzo de' Medici from Pazzi soldiers
that had captured him inside his own palace after Ezio's assassination of Francesco de' Pazzi. His reward for saving Lorenzo was access to a stash of florins located in a strong box.

The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, or simply the Frari, was a church located in the Italian city of Venice. The Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze visited the Frari during the
15th century, where he learned the Climb Leap skill from local thief Rosa. One of the greatest churches in the city, it had the status of a minor basilica. It stood on the Campo dei Frari
at the heart of the San Polo district. The imposing edifice was built of brick, and was one of the city's three notable churches built in the Italian Gothic style. As with many Venetian
churches, the exterior was rather plain. The interior contained the only rood screen still in place in Venice. The building was completed, after almost a century of construction, in 1338.

The Arsenale di Venezia (English: Arsenal of Venice) was a shipyard in the north-east corner of Venice. Throughout its history, it served as a base of operations for the Knights Templar,
with the 1320 renovation of the shipyard paid for by Templar funds. As such, the facility was treated by the Assassins as a Templar lair. In 1486, it served as the point of departure for
the Templar vessel destined to collect the Apple of Eden, and also as the point of arrival for aforementioned vessel two years later.

The Auditore Family Crypt was the tomb of Domenico Auditore, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze's great-great-grandfather, and the first to take the name of Auditore. Located
beneath the town of Monteriggioni, the crypt was built around the same time as the Villa Auditore. Along its walls were several plaques detailing Domenico's life, and the origins of the
Auditore family. The crypt was visited by at least three of Domenico's descendants: Giovanni Auditore , who explored the crypt when he was young, Ezio, during his time in Monteriggioni,
and descendant Desmond Miles in 2012, who passed through the remains of the crypt to reach the Sanctuary.

ASSASSIN'S CREED BROTHERHOOD
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The continuing story is set in 2012. After escaping the Templars' attack at the end of Assassin's Creed II, Desmond Miles and other modern-day Assassins flee to Monteriggioni,
establishing a new hideout in the ruins of the Villa Auditore. After restoring the electricity in the old tunnels under the villa, the player once again takes control of Ezio Auditore through
the genetic memory of Desmond Miles using the Animus 2.0

Desmond attempts to relive one of the late memories of his ancestor, Ezio Auditore, hoping that it would reveal the location of the Apple of Eden, which could allow them to prevent the
foretold disaster. However, instead of entering the memory set in 1507, he was forced into a different one, occurring during a battle in Viana. From there, as Ezio looked upon the
besieged Viana Castle, he recalled the similar events of the siege of Monteriggioni, subsequently forcing Desmond back further, into a memory from 1499.

Ezio's story continues in 1499 as he exits the vault, still confused by what he saw inside. He escapes Rome with his uncle Mario Auditore and arrives at Monteriggioni. Once home, Ezio
is comforted by the prospect that his personal vendetta is over and that his days as an Assassin are done. Machiavelli challenges Ezio's decision to leave Rodrigo Borgia, the Pope, alive.

The following morning Monteriggioni is besieged by Cesare Borgia, son of Rodrigo Borgia. The Assassins are overpowered by this attack and retreat, leaving the entire city in ruins. Mario
is killed in the attack, after being shot by Cesare, and the Apple of Eden, the mysterious artifact of great power, is lost to Cesare Borgia and the Templars. Ezio escapes with his family &
travels to Rome, the center of the Templar Order in Italy, once again seeking vengeance against the Borgias. There, he discovers that the Assassins are failing in the fight against
corruption. Determined to redeem the Guild, Ezio convinces the current head of the Assassins, Machiavelli, that he has what it takes to lead, while assembling a Brotherhood powerful
enough to destroy the Templars and Ezio's new arch-nemesis, Cesare Borgia.

During the attack on the Villa, Ezio's ally Caterina Sforza was taken away by Cesare's army. Ezio sneaks into the Castel, holding Lucrezia Borgia (Cesare's sister) hostage, and uses her to
free Caterina from her cell. Ezio reintroduces the mysterious thief, La Volpe, the condottiere Bartolomeo d'Alviano and his sister, Claudia into the guild, recruiting the city's underground of
thieves, courtesans and mercenaries to his cause. He then attacks each of Cesare's resources. He kills Cesare's Banker, withdrawing Cesare's battle funds. He kills the leader of the French
troops helping Cesare, the Baron de Valois, leaving the troops in disarray. After proving to all that he can lead, Ezio is made head of the Assassin's guild, and promoted to the rank of
Il Mentore.

Subject 16 had once again placed glyphs on various landmarks, and once Desmond had found them all a framework-like level in the Animus opened. Desmond encounters a virtual copy of
Subject 16, whose body is made up of code. His speech is scattered and vague, but he tries to warn Desmond that there is little time left. He says that "it is too late to save them" and that
"she is not who you think she is." He tells Desmond to find Eve in Eden and that her DNA is the key. He then suddenly says, "The sun. Your son," and trails off. Desmond tells him not to
go, to which 16 replies, "I am with you till the end. Find me in the darkness." He then disappears and the framework world collapses.

Rodrigo Borgia has become suspicious of his son's activities. Cesare returns to Rome to ask his father for more money and the use of the Apple of Eden artifact after Ezio cuts his funding.
His father refuses to give him more funds and, instead, attempts to murder him using a poisoned apple. Cesare, saved from death by his sister's warning, turns the tables on his father by
shoving the poisoned apple in his mouth when Rodrigo refuses to reveal the location of the Apple of Eden. When Cesare storms off to look for the artifact - destroying his relationship with
his sister in the process - Ezio races ahead and uses the Apple to destroy Cesare's army and to make his supporters withdraw their backing from his campaign to become King of Italy.
When all of his "friends" have abandoned him, Cesare is arrested by Pope Julius II's Papal Army for murder and incest, finally leaving Rome in peace.

Ezio, however, is not convinced, and so uses the Apple to locate Cesare. He discovers that the Borgia Captain General escaped from his prison and launched an attack on a small city
in Navarre, Spain. Ezio arrives and corners Cesare on the battlements of a crumbling castle. Ezio and Cesare engage in a sword fight, but Ezio overpowers his enemy. Cesare, however,
claims he cannot be killed by the hand of man, and so Ezio decides to "let fate decide". He drops Cesare off the castle battlements, therefore not directly killing him. Ezio then takes the
apple and hides it in a place in which no one will find it - another temple, this one built underneath Santa Maria in Aracoeli, within The Temple of Juno.

Using the co-ordinates taken from Ezio's memories, Desmond, Lucy, Shaun and Rebecca open the temple, intending to use the Apple to locate the remaining temples in order to keep the
other Pieces of Eden out of the Templars' hands. As Desmond makes his way into the temple, he is confronted with holographic apparitions of a being called Juno, who appears to be of the
same race as Minerva in Assassin's Creed II; however, she is neither audible nor visible to Lucy, Shaun, or Rebecca. Most of her comments center around humanity's lack of knowledge.
She states that humanity is "innocent and ignorant": that people were not built to be wise, having been given only five of the six senses, sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing, but lacking
knowledge. However, Juno says that when the initial disaster that wiped out the first people came to pass, they tried to "pass it on through the blood"; it is implied that this sense is
Desmond's "eagle vision", which is passed on through the Assassin bloodlines. Her careful cadence then drops as she suddenly becomes angry, yelling "We should have left you as you were!"

A staircase leading to the Apple is activated and Desmond and the others ascend it. Desmond approaches the Apple and glowing symbols begin to appear in the air. As Shaun starts to explain
what they are, Desmond touches the Apple. His DNA activates it and suddenly they are all frozen, although Desmond can still speak. Juno cryptically says that Desmond is descended from her
race and their enemy. She then says that there is a woman who is supposed to accompany him through "the gate", but she is not with him. She says, "The cross darkens the horizon," a
possible reference to the Templars, and takes control of Desmond's body, forcing him to draw his hidden blade saying, "The Path must be opened," and that "the scales must be balanced".

She then begins to force Desmond to walk towards Lucy. Desmond pleads with Juno to stop, but she replies, "You know so very little. We must guide you!" and he is forced to stab Lucy in the
abdomen. Both fall to the ground unconscious, with Desmond going into a coma (resulting from the shock of stabbing Lucy) and Lucy's fate left uncertain. Then, as the credits roll Juno can be
heard saying "It is done". 'William M.' (a high-ranking Assassin who emails Lucy and Shaun during the game) is heard during the credits, ordering another Assassin to put Desmond back
into the Animus.

COPERNICUS CONSPIRACY
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Copernicus Conspiracy is a free downloadable content pack for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on the game's release. It focuses on the
famed astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, who gets into trouble with the Vatican, who do not want Copernicus educating the public about astronomy. The pack consists of eight optional
missions, ranging from courier, assassination and protection objectives.

The plots starts with Nicolaus Copernicus sharing his teachings to a crowd within the Palazzo Senatorio, in clear defiance against the Templars' wishes. As Ezio arrives, Vatican guards
arrive to kill Copernicus to prevent his teachings from spreading. Ezio saves Copernicus and escorts him to a small safehouse outside the Colosseo. Copernicus, wanting to warn the other
scholars in Rome, gives Ezio letters to hand to them before they are assassinated by the guards. Whilst it is too late for one of the scholars, the others manage to escape. Upon arriving
back, Copernicus comes to the conclusion that it is the "Master", a man appointed by the Pope to keep Rome's philosophy pure, who ordered the killings. Ezio tails a cardinal to a meeting
with the Master and overhears a discussion of five of Rome's best guards going out to deal with the situation. Ezio kills them and reports back to Copernicus, who informs him that there is
a Lunar Eclipse he wishes to chronicle.

Ezio returns to Rome and kills the Master with his Hidden Blade. In his dying words, the Master reveals that guards are already on their way to kill Copernicus and that Ezio is too late.
Under the eclipse, Ezio rushes back to kill the guards before they get to Copernicus. After this, Copernicus indulges Ezio with some of his findings. Copernicus thanks Ezio, and the two go
their separate ways.

THE FIRST CIVILIZATION
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Those Who Came Before, also known as the First Civilization, were an ancient & advanced species on Earth who created the Pieces of Eden, as well as the human race itself. They were
a technologically advanced & powerful race, who seemed to possess precognitive abilities; either natural or technological. Unlike the human creations, who were created with only five
senses, members of the First Civilization possessed six; the sixth being "knowledge". With early humans unable to comprehend the First Civilization for what they truly were, they were
looked upon as gods.

The origins of the First Civilization are unclear; Minerva simply stated that they "came before". They were responsible for the creation of humanity, creating them in their own image to
be a docile workforce. While Minerva notes that they built humanity to survive, Juno asserts that they were not intended to be wise; thereby ensuring obedient & resilient cattle to suit
their needs.

Control of humanity was assured through use of the Pieces of Eden, which tapped into a neuro-transmitter located deep within the human brain. However, there were some humans born
without the neuro-transmitter, hypothesized by Subject 16 to be hybrids of the First Civilization & humans, & could subsequently live without being controlled through such means.

Eventually, despite humanity & the First Civilization living in peace for some time, war broke out between the two species. The war involved the theft of a Piece of Eden by Adam & Eve,
though how this related to the conflict is unclear. While Those Who Came Before were more technologically advanced & powerful, humanity had the advantage of numbers; most likely
outnumbering their creators by the millions, far too much for the Pieces of Eden to effectively handle.

The war did eventually end, although with casualties greater than the First Civilization could have ever anticipated. The distraction of war had blinded them to all else, & their preoccupation
prevented them from seeing the signs of an impending danger from the "heavens". By the time they had noticed it, it was too late. Shaun Hastings & Lucy Stillman later hypothesized
that this danger could have been a massive solar flare that flipped the Earth's weakening magnetic field, reversing the polarity & makingthe planet geologically unstable.

While both races survived the catastrophe, few of either species remained. Working together, they rebuilt their world, though humanity continued to view Minerva's kind as gods. Despite
their survival, Those Who Came Before were unable to fully recover & began heading toward extinction. They knew however, that the catastrophe that had burned their world before would
eventually reoccur & so they took steps to prevent it, recording a holographic, yet interactive, message to serve as a warning to those who entered the Vault. In it, Minerva warned of the
impending doom, & spoke of the Temples that could save Earth from destruction, built by those who "knew to turn away from war."

Despite the mark they left behind on Earth, the First Civilization faded into obscurity rapidly after their decline; the inability of humans to comprehend their creators as anything but Gods did
however allow their names at least, to live on. The lack of evidence for their existence did not prevent all humans from learning about them however, & by the 21st Century, the Knights
Templar had a limited understanding of the nature of those who had lived before. Indeed, the technology used to view the genetic memories of one's ancestor – the Animus – was based off
technology utilized by the First Civilization.

PIECES OF EDEN
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Pieces of Eden were technologically advanced pieces of equipment created by the First Civilization; each possessed unique properties, & all were known to be capable of bending
the thoughts of one or more individuals to the will of the user. The creators of the Human race, the First Civilization had used the Pieces of Eden to control their slaves through hypnotic
trances. Whether humanity was created to be susceptible to the effects of the Pieces of Eden, or if the Pieces were created after humanity remains unknown; Minerva attributed the
peace between humanity & their "gods" to the effects of the Pieces of Eden.

Eventually however, two humans, Adam & Eve became immune to the hypnotic effects of the Pieces of Eden, & stole one of the Pieces – the Apple of Eden – from their masters. Soon
after a war broke out, pitting humanity against their gods. Despite their strength in technology, the Pieces of Eden failed to protect the creators from the slaves, who heavily
outnumbered the masters. The war ended catastrophically for both sides, & both humanity & their gods were forced to work together to rebuild their world. Eventually though, the gods
became extinct, & their Pieces of Eden were lost to the annals of history.

Amongst the greatest tools known to man; by interacting with a neuro-transmitter located deep in the brain of the human body, the Apples of Eden could control the human mind. Other
Pieces of Eden were capable of warping reality, creating illusions & ensuring total obedience. Some were known to interact with & change the passage of time, possibly creating
paradoxes whilst others were able to "speak" to those who wielded them. Both the Templars & the Order of Assassins believed that the Pieces of Eden were the sources of many
historical tales & miracles, such as the Parting of the Red Sea, the Trojan Horse, & the miracles enacted by "the Christ-figure" who foreshadowed the Christian faith, & the Biblical plagues
that ravaged Egypt, among other supernatural happenings.

The Pieces of Eden, or at the very least the Apples, were capable of extending a pulse of energy when activated, that would drive those targeted to insanity & death, or force other to fight
each other to near death. Doing so however, had a detrimental effect on the physical health of the wielder. Using the Pieces' powers in short bursts, however, could minimize the negative
effects dealt out by the artifacts; though to what extent, is unknown.

Whilst hacking into the Animus, the mysterious Subject 16, discovered that throughout history, the Pieces of Eden had an extensive history of changing hands, with historically notable
figures, many Templars or Assassins, laying claim to them; Napoleon Bonaparte, George Washington, Mahatma Gandhi, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Tsar Nicholas II, Winston Churchill,
Henry Ford, Adolf Hitler , & Qin Shi Huang to name but a few.

By 2012 however, many had fallen into the hands of the Templars; seeking to obtain the rest, the Animus project was set up with the intention of locating & securing the remaining Pieces
of Eden. By using the Pieces of Eden, the Templars sought to manipulate the neuro-transmitters in the entire human race to achieve their goal. Eye-Abstergo, a branch of Abstergo
Industries, planned to launch an "all-in-one telecommunication" satellite into orbit around the Earth; unbeknownst to humanity & indeed, many employees of Abstergo Industries, the satellite
would contain at least one Piece of Eden, & spread its power out on a global scale.

CAPITOLINE TRIAD
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Capitoline Triad were a sub-pantheon of supreme deities in Roman culture consisting of Jupiter, Juno & Minerva, who were in fact part of the First Civilization. Their elevated
status & reverence possibly corresponding with some hierarchy of leadership among Those Who Came Before. The only member of the Triad not yet encountered is Jupiter, the
king of the gods. Regarded as the chief of the Triad, it seems unthinkable that he would not have had his own Temple from which to rule over others. And yet the prospect of Jupiter
making an appearance in a future AC title is all the more omnious when we consider that he is also the god of sky & thunder. The Catastrophe approaches.

In the image above the triad is seen with their accompanying birds, Minerva's Owl, Juno's Peacock & Jupiter's Eagle. In Assassin's Creed the eagle is associated with the Assassin
Order, & the Eagle Vision ability of some Assassins. In Greek Mythology, Zeus was known to have had affairs with many women. Jupiter was the equivalent of Zeus in the Greek
pantheon, so it is likely that Jupiter was the one who inter-bred with the humans thus creating the Hybrids.

untitled10ks8f.png
HYBRIDS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Although the First Civilization created humanity with a neuro-transmitter that forced them to accept the will of the Pieces of Eden, eventual cross-breeding between the gods & their
slaves bore a hybrid species. These new humans possessed some of the natural abilities of their gods, but most notably, were free of the neuro-transmitter that bound them to the will
of the Pieces of Eden. The first two known individuals to be born immune to the effects of the Pieces were Adam & Eve, who later stole the Apple of Eden & precipitated the war
that followed. Members of the lineage also inherited these natural abilities & immunity to the mind-control of the Pieces, although the Pieces' ability to physically control them remained.
Individuals such as Altaïr & his descendants Ezio Auditore, Subject 16 & Desmond Miles all possessed these enhanced abilities, & presumably, an immunity to the Pieces of Eden.

Eagle Vision was a sixth sense that certain lineages of Assassins possessed, & was known to be only accessible to the descendants of humans who interbred with Those Who Came
Before. Those who possessed this gift were able to instinctively sense how people & objects related to them, which manifested as a colored glow, much like an aura in a person's mind's
eye. When one learned to fully use Eagle vision, the ability evolved to the more advanced Eagle Sense. This heightened all of the senses of its user, allowing them to eavesdrop on
conversations, detect the heartbeat of a target in the area, or even foresee a target's path; which assisted in planning ambushes or setting traps.

untitled10ks8f.png
SUBJECT 16
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Subject 16 was an individual who was kidnapped by Abstergo Industries & forced into the Animus before Desmond Miles. A descendant of both Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad & Ezio Auditore, he
was born into the Assassin bloodline. Sixteen was also related to Desmond, though their exact relation is unknown.

Sixteen was kept connected to the Animus for dangerously long periods, sometimes even days at a time. This led to him suffering from a severe condition known as the "bleeding
effect." Through this bleeding effect, Sixteen began to explore the memories of his ancestors without the use of the Animus; but his inability to control these visions forced him into
a downward spiral of insanity, eventually culminating in his evident suicide.

Before this event, Sixteen was forced to explore the memories of his ancestor Ezio Auditore, who the Templars knew had located the Vault during his lifetime. However, he was never
able to relive the desired memory. By draining his body of blood to paint several cryptic messages upon the floor & walls of the rooms he was being kept in, Sixteen allegedly killed
himself to prevent the Templars reaching their goals. Following Sixteen's supposed death, the Templars were left without the location of the Vault; though they had gained the
knowledge that an ancestor of Ezio's – Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad – had once held a certain Piece of Eden. Thus, Abstergo kidnapped yet another descendant of Ezio & Altaïr, Desmond Miles;
who they labelled Subject 17.

Following Desmond's escape from Abstergo & the beginning of his journey through the memories of Ezio, the Assassins learned that Sixteen had managed to hack the Abstergo Animus
before his death, & had placed twenty Glyphs throughout the Animus' rendering of the memories. These encrypted files, which had been saved onto the Abstergo Animus' memory core
that Lucy had stolen, were later unknowingly transferred onto Rebecca Crane's Animus 2.0.

After decrypting all twenty files, the Assassins were rewarded with a genetic memory dated "date classified BCE." The video showed two free-runners (who referred to each other as Adam
& Eve) climbing a large glass structure, with an Apple of Eden in hand. Within each Glyph, Sixteen also left a set of coordinates, which corresponded with locations in Renaissance Rome.
Upon visiting these indicated landmarks, Desmond discovered several Rifts in the Animus programming. Within each, Desmond solved one of ten Cluster puzzles, & unlocked a piece of a
file. Upon compiling them, they revealed a distorted video with the message "The miracle is in the execution," suggesting that (unlike the video hidden in the Glyphs) the Rifts instead
concealed an executable file.

Upon accessing it, Desmond found himself in an unknown area within the Animus, & was able to run through a somewhat long virtual maze, similar to those within the Animus Virtual
Training Program. At the end of the maze, he found a hologram (partially broken & made of computing code) of Subject 16, who told Desmond that all hope was lost, & that he needed to
go to Eden to find a woman named Eve & "her DNA", he also tells Desmond "the sun...your son...too weak" before leaving to "replenish his energy," 16 told Desmond to find him in the
darkness.

DECEMBER 21, 2012
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The 2012 phenomenon is regarded as the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. Various astronomical alignments & numerological formulae
related to this date have been proposed. A New Age interpretation of this transition postulates that this date marks the start of time in which Earth & its inhabitants may undergo a
positive physical or spiritual transformation, & that 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era. Others suggest that the 2012 date marks the end of the world or a smaller catastrophe.
Scenarios suggested for the end of the world include the arrival of the next solar maximum, or Earth's collision with a black hole or a passing planet called "Nibiru".

By using the Pieces of Eden, the Templars sought to manipulate the neuro-transmitters in the entire human race to achieve their goal. Eye-Abstergo, a branch of Abstergo Industries,
planned to launch an "all-in-one telecommunication" satellite into orbit around the Earth; unbeknownst to humanity & indeed, many employees of Abstergo Industries, the satellite
would contain at least one Piece of Eden, & spread its power out on a global scale. The date the satellite is planned to launch is December 21, 2012

The images above show Subject 16's warnings Desmond finds at the Abstergo Laboratory in Assassin's Creed. The Eye of Providence (or the all-seeing eye of God) is sometimes
interpreted as representing the eye of God watching over humankind. The Square of Letters, when read from bottom to top & right to left, reads "Artefacts sent to the skies to
control all nations, to make us obey a hidden crusade. Do not help them." The numbers 12212012 make the date 21 December 2012 in the middle-endian format. The barcode,
however, encodes the number 666, which is the number of the beast (devil).

untitled10ks8f.png
THE CATASTROPHE
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

Though Lucy & the team discuss different possibilities, Desmond’s understanding of the Catastrophe is of a solar flare or Coronal Mass Ejection that scorched the Earth with life-
threatening radiation. Fitting the cyclical nature of the event as described by Minerva, solar flares multiply in power & range as sun spot activity increases. Proton storms created
by solar flares can exert chaotic effects on biochemistry & living organisms, while the electromagnetic energy of even a moderate flare could disable power grids,
telecommunications & computer networks. NASA already monitors solar flare activity, not just to warn astronauts working outside the protective mantle of the atmosphere, but
in anticipation of such a disaster on Earth.

At the end of Assassin's Creed II, Minerva warns of an imminent Catastrophe that could destroy all life on Earth, & explains that this cataclysm occurred once before, annihilating
her race many thousands of years ago. She also claims that her kind had been developing a way to prevent it, their labors hidden in other secret locations around the world.
Desmond is instructed to seek out the remaining Vaults & Temples around the world, as inside these sealed chambers lies the salvation for the inhabitants of Earth.

The Vaults & Temples can be unlocked with specific codes, or the appropriate First Civilization technology in the form of Pieces of Eden, but there may be further genetic or
individual determinants involved in the security protocols. The Vault beneath the Vatican refused to open for Rodrigo Borgia, even though he held the same Staff & Apple
that granted access to Ezio. When the elder Ezio chooses to relinquish the Apple by placing it in the Vault beneath the Colosseum, he uses Eagle Vision to set the code & hide a
password so that only a descendant such as Desmond can retrieve it in the future. Of what is known, it seems the First Civilization had only ever intended for Assassins to use the
Vaults & Temples. Or more correctly, both the pure & the hybrid bearers of their DNA.

untitled10ks8f.png
CRYPTIC MESSAGES, GLYPHS & RIFTS
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Cryptic Messages refer to a number of images & texts scrawled onto Desmond Miles's cell at Abstergo by the previous occupant. They form the 'cliffhanger' ending for Assassin's
Creed. When Abstergo finally recovered the information they needed from Desmond Miles, they left him in the Abstergo laboratory. Alone, Desmond discovered he had gained Eagle
Vision (via the Bleeding Effect): this enabled him to perceive a number of markings around the laboratory & within his bedroom. Desmond quickly realized they were made in blood by
his predecessor in the Animus (known only as Subject 16). Although the Templars cleaned the blood off the walls, the messages were still able to be seen using Eagle Vision.

The Glyphs were created by Subject 16 after he had discovered 'The Truth' in his Animus sessions, but he could not share this information during his captivity. Instead 16 hacked the
Animus & hid the file in a number of encrypted fragments which the Animus user experiences as Glyphs. In an effort to inform the next Animus subject of the hack, Subject 16 left a
number of Cryptic Messages in his own blood. During the Escape from Abstergo Industries, Lucy Stillman stole the memory core from the Animus that Subject 16 had tampered with.
When this core was transferred to the Animus 2.0, 16's Glyphs were transferred as well.

Rifts appear to be breaks in the programming of memories within the Animus, which can be seen using Eagle Vision. Each of the ten rifts are found on key landmarks throughout Rome,
& conceal Subject 16's cluster puzzles. Unlike Glyphs, Rifts cannot be seen or accessed without Eagle Vision active. Ezio Auditore must actually grab the edge of the Rift while Eagle
Vision is active, then climb in. Upon accessing the executable file, Desmond was uploaded to an unknown area within the Animus, where he was free to run through a somewhat long
virtual maze similar to those within the Animus Virtual Training Program. At the end of the maze, Desmond found a hologram (partially broken & made of computing code) of Subject 16,
who told Desmond that all hope was lost, & that he must go to Eden to find a woman named Eve. Before leaving, Sixteen instructed Desmond to find him in the darkness. The program
ended with the ground collapsing from under Desmond's feet, & a loading screen showing Desmond in free fall.

untitled10ks8f.png
THE TRUTH & THE MIRACLE
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Truth was a video hidden in the Animus by Subject 16, with the intent to enlighten and possibly warn his successor in the Animus project. Its twenty pieces could be unlocked by
solving the puzzles hidden behind the twenty Glyphs scattered throughout the Animus' projection of Renaissance Italy. At the end of the video a binary code pops up, "01000101
01000100 01000101 01001110," translates to "EDEN." Another point of interest is that there are 20 zeros and 12 ones, a reference to the supposed doomsday year of 2012.

Immediately after solving the final cluster of the rifts, a short video was unlocked that stated "The miracle is in the execution" while the ultrasound of an unborn child was shown.
Rebecca Crane noted that (unlike the Truth video) the Cluster puzzles actually concealed an executable file. Upon accessing the file, Desmond was uploaded to an unknown area within
the Animus, where he was free to run through a somewhat long virtual maze.

Whilst decrypting the glyphs found throughout Assassin's Creed II, there are an abundance of letters and other tidbits that can be discovered which reference historical events & people.

GAME INFORMER TIMELINE
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The above is a timeline produced by Game Informer late 2010. The magazine went directly to the writers of the franchise to get the definitive history, including never-before-seen
elements of the conspiracy. Ubisoft charted some of the most important events in the sprawling conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. If you read closely, you'll
encounter some information about the storyline that has never been fully revealed until now. You'll also notice some wide gaps in history where details have been left out by
Ubisoft's writers. Draw whatever conclusions you like from that information.

HUNGER OF KNOWLEDGE
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

An ongoing project by the Assassin's Creed Wikia entitled Hunger of Knowledge aims to compile a complete database of everything in the history of the series. The project's main goal is
to make sure to have a reliable and excellent source of information about anything and everything about the series, be it in-depth and featured or just briefly mentioned. In other words:
Compiling a complete database of both an in-game and historical nature. The goal is for the articles to be made as complete and comprehensive as possible
Their progress can be viewed here

THE FUTURE OF ASSASSIN'S CREED
000line26lq4ijsoa.jpg

The Assassin's Creed series has the ability to take place in any given time period, giving the series enormous potential. What we've seen so far is just a small section in history and
already the franchise has provided so much. Assassin's Creed III will most likely have a new time period, story and protagonist. Not much is known right now, but its clear that
Desmond will be in the middle of it and the modern day aspect of the story will advance significantly. It’s likely that the Assassin's Creed III will release for PS3, 360 and PC as usual, but
the series could also make its debut on newer platforms such as Playstation Vita and Wii-U. Assassin's Creed III is set to release in November 2012, the release date coinciding with the
game's own 2012 plot.

Cannot wait for this fucking game. I've been listening to the E3 trailer song for the past couple of days on nonstop. Signature Edition seems the way to go doesn't it?

BRAVO OP, I loved AC2 and youtubed ACBH, I'm ready for this bad boy though

And it feels like we just had an AC thread like a few months back. These games are coming out on what feels like a early basis, not good in my eyes. Not that I'm saying the game will be bad, mind you.

Great OT none the less :)

I actually read that entire OP... kinda gigantic but actually useful information.

I'm probably buying this now when I was originally gonna pass... Ubisoft should send you a gift basket. haha

Holy shit man! Nice OP. These are getting better and better.

I still have yet to play any of the AC games, they are all in my backlog, but man this OP would get me super pumped if I was waiting for it.

Biggest OT in history? (And I thought the BF3 OT was huge...)

Amazing work. Somehow I am still amped for a third game in this sub-series within the series they created.

Damn, impressive.

Anyways I'm LTTP for this series but I'm determined to get caught up as soon as possible. I played AC1 back in 2008 or so but didn't like it, I forced myself through it a couple weeks ago and it wasn't that bad despite being repetitive. AC2 on the other hand is amazing, and I'm fairly sure that I'm almost at the end.

I doubt I'll have Brotherhood done in time for this game's launch, considering all the other stuff that's coming out this month. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually though.

Mother of God.

Amazing OP. The best one I've seen since I'm on GAF. Almost makes me want to buy the game.
"amazing" as in "amazingly bloated and ineffectual paste-bin of press releases and superfluous information that 95% of posters will just mousewheel through".

gaf needs an eic to trim down these counter-productive monstrosities before posters start forwarding their carpal tunnel medical bills to evilore.
