Please let this one be like Casino Royale again. Especially without the infuriating Bourne-shaky-cam of QoS.

Also, since Craig only wants to return for the next one, I am already hoping they will fix their casting mistake. (I found Craig good, but two other contenders far superior).

Either go for (now almost too old) Clive Owen who was born to play Bond or go for another (so I´ve read) contender that has lost out against Craig: James Purefoy! That man oozes charm and for once it would be understandable that all the women want to sleep with him.

Edit:

Also please no Idris Elba Bond. I'd much rather have Ruth Wilson as Bond girl. Alice Morgan is just so delicious.

Wrong. He is signed for Bond 23 and 24, and maybe even 25 (he signed the 3 + 1 deal like Brosnan did, but after CR it was rumored that they re-upped that to 3 + 2). He will be Bond for at least another 5-6 years.

And thank christ for that.

Really? When I had read he will only return for one more, I took it as this one. Apparently the one after this one.

Oh well, there go my casting choices. By then, they are certainly too old.

Hope they shake up the franchise again á la Casino Royale. QoS was such a dissapointment. Litterally, in the theater, "Is this it?"...

Craig on Mendes/Bond 23:

"Sam [Mendes] is a huge, huge Bond fan and has been all his life. He and I both said at the beginning to each other that the only thing we want to do is make the best James Bond movie we can. So therefore, we have to go back to what we know about the books, what we know about the movies and what we know about all of that... And improve upon it."

"That's where we started off, and that's where we started with the script, and that's where we started from for the look and feel of it, the characters... It's how we're going to continue on the movie - doing the best that we can."
Gonna be so good.

I like the cut of your jib.

Although Craig will overtake Connery when all is said and done. 2 or 3 more movies at CR/QoS calibre will easily get him there.

I love James Bond, and I cannot wait for this.

If it is called Skyfall though, there better be some paragliding/parachuting or something like that.

Normally I would call BS, but:

Is the title of the 23rd James Bond film "Skyfall"? If records of website addresses recently acquired by Sony Pictures are anything to go by, it may well be. Thanks to a tip sent to MI6 by 'Gareth', it has been discovered that Sony Pictures registered at least 15 internet domain names using combinations of "Skyfall", "James Bond" and "Film/Movie" just two days ago.

The list of domains registered by Sony Pictures on 3rd October 2011 include: jamesbond-skyfall.com, jamesbond-skyfall.net, jamesbondskyfall.com, jamesbondskyfall.net, skyfall-film.net, skyfall-thefilm.com, skyfall-thefilm.net, skyfall-themovie.com, skyfall-themovie.net, skyfallfilm.net, skyfallmovie.net, skyfallthefilm.com, skyfallthefilm.net, skyfallthemovie.com and skyfallthemovie.com.

Last time around, fans discovered the title of the 22nd film, "Quantum of Solace", via the very same means when Sony Pictures registered the movie's domain names two days ahead of the reveal press conference.

Daniel Craig has been teasing reporters in recent interviews that Bond 23 does indeed have a title, but gave no further clues at the time. Late last month he left CNN dangling: "So Daniel Craig just told me they are starting the next James Bond film and it's got a title but he wouldn't tell me it," their reporter tweeted.

One-word titles are amongst some of the best loved in the James Bond series, and "Skyfall" would be in the company of "Goldfinger", "Thunderball", "Moonraker", "Octopussy" and "GoldenEye". It would be the first James Bond movie title to start with 'S', and also be the first original non-Ian Fleming title since "Die Another Day" almost a decade ago.

There are a few other uses of "Skyfall" in popular culture. It was the name of a Transformers character, the title of the second in the Darklands trilogy of novels by Greg Bridges, and has been registered in August as a US trademark by mobile gaming company ngmoco (but only in the videogames category) for an unannounced title.

So its probably legit. Wow, most un-Bondish title ever. Intriguing.

I suspect that we will see a press conference from EON on Friday or maybe next week to announce this as the title of Bond 23.

And perhaps the first brief synopsis of the film?

Ewww, I'm glad they didn't do this. I like Owen but he's no Bond

Meh. The title doesn't bother me. I just want a really good Bond film.
Pretty much the same boat I'm in, QoS left me pretty disappointed so if they can deliver a movie on the same level of CR I'll be happy and if they can exceed that level I'll cry tears of joy.

Skyfall sounds like a good ominous name to me. Bring it on - I hate not having Bond every two years.

Love the name. Will 007 be in the title you think? I feel it flows better after skyfall.

SKYfall 007

No Bond film has carried "007" in the title. This won't be the first.

Thinking about it more, if its like Thunderball and is the name of his operation

Operation SKyfall sounds like a pretty cool codename for a plane of attack.

I can't wait for this movie. So he's going to be Bond for at least 5 more years. Is he still in good enough shape to look like Bond? I haven't seen Craig in a movie in a while.

French actress Berenice Marlohe, who was last week rumoured for a Bond Girl role in Bond 23, has apparently locked the part for Daniel Craig's third outing as 007 after a successful screentest at Pinewood Studios. The actress is currently making the transition from television to film, and is just wrapping up filming on "Un bonheur n'arrive jamais seul" with director James Huth.

Award-winning British actress Helen McCrory, best known to movie-goers for her role as Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, has also reportedly secured a role. The 43 year-old actress has worked with Craig three times before: "Hotel Splendide" (2000), "Enduring Love" (2004) and "Flashbacks of a Fool" (2008). There is no word on the nature of her character.

The news comes via usually reliable showbiz column by Baz Maigoye, in the otherwise usually untrustworthy Daily Mail newspaper. Marlohe is now understood to be the lead female foil in the 23rd James Bond film, after director Sam Mendes has finalised his cast.

Other cast members are said to include Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris. Dame Judi Dench and Rory Kinnear are set to reprise their roles as M and Tanner respectively. Simon Russell Beale may no longer be a part of the film due to scheduling conflicts with his role in John Hodge's play 'Collaborators' for the National Theatre.

Looks like the title and casting will be made official very soon.

I can dig her as Bond's female counterpart. I'm extremely curious as to how the romantic storyline will play out. CR made it the Bond bildungsroman, QoS dropped it entirely - where will we go now?
