Its the mature thing to do. :/

Well I was hyped for Brawl and it was shattered due to roster list but I still played that game every weekend when it come to my friends.

I have been trying to encourage small group of friends to get 360 since they haven't own PS3 or 360 yet, since most of us already owned 360.

So...3 dozen characters, right? How many stages are there? 20?

THAT'S what they should have been working on....give each character a home stage. Ryu is partially defined by his rooftop...Guile by his base...Chun Li by her street with cyclists. All of the original fighters have iconic locales...the same care should be given to the newcomers.

Nah, I'm glad they worked on the opponents I'm going to be facing rather than a background that I'll tune out in the first few seconds.

This thread is a carbon-copy of the original Brawl thread when it was getting weekly updates.

After the game actually comes out, 90% of the people that posted in the thread will drop it after a month and the people who care about the game will keep playing. Then we won't have to hear any more Livejournal wishlists! :)
Ummm, that's the case with every hype and official thread... Which comprises more than half of all GAF threads...

Are you serious? I know online is important but most of us like to play game with friends in person and go to tournaments.

I dislike online sometime due to ragequitters and that I have been accused for being ragequitters but I didn't because my daughter unplugged my internet cords or router by accident.

You people need to stop this. Online is as good as its gonna get. We're never gonna get 3 bar connections that play as if you're offline.

It's not as terrible as some make it out to be, but it could still be a lot better.

Online is good enough for me. Hell, I'm wireless sometimes and I still get great connections with people ~1000 miles away.

And 35 characters is bound to bring balance issues (not that I'm saying it'll be terrible by any stretch). Any more characters and you get into Marvel territory methinks. Might as well focus on the ones we have. If you can't find one in there, the game probably isn't for you.

Anyone think there might be a focus more on chains in this game, even for the old characters that might get new ones?

Since Ibuki and Dudley are pretty chain heavy, I wonder how they're going to handle the way the old character's combos work (and I know it's still WIP, but they seemed to do pretty decent damage compared to some other target combos, ie Ken's). As much as I want to play the new characters, I want to see how the fresh paint of coat works on the old ones too :D This game can't come soon enough

You'd rather have stages than characters?
At this point...hell yes. 24 Unique characters is awesome...36 is more than I could ask for/use (but is still awesome). I see no real reason to build beyond this roster (no matter how much I like R.Mika's big round ass). However, I do feel like the new comers to the roster are getting a bit shafted on their character, simply because they don't have a set 'home'.

Honestly, when I think of a SF character, I don't just think of the character, I think of their music, and their stage. Vega in his bar with the chain-link fence...Makoto in her quiet courtyard...Dudley on the street in London. Their stages say something about the characters, Ryu's calm and focus vs Ken's exuberance comes not from their fighting styles and animations (which were practically identical in SF2) but from their stages.

You assume a lot. I don't play online very often. But local play is a resource that not many have. Better play online would open a lot of new doors that a staggering one keeps closed.

Plus, I think my post was a bigger poke at your needs to kill two birds with one stone with adding Elena to match the Africa stage and you wanting Alex's stage for some odd reason. For someone commenting on me, I don't think your priorities are straight.

I know :-(

I am satisfied with the amount of new characters we are already getting SSFIV, I'm good. I am ready to hear about other new features they are working on at this point.

Ummm offline has worked since world warrior. Maybe they could hire some network specialists.

I agree...it is disappointing that characters are not tied to stages and music as a complete package.

Take with a truckload of salt but...

There's a rumor floating around from those that have played Hakan and said he actually puts more oil on himself during a match, and the game keeps track of this, and thus if affects some of his moves, how far he slides on the ground etc...

I wish I was kidding

'complete package'....exactly. I'm really not saying "build stages instead of characters" (well, I guess I sort of am) but more think that they should build that stage WITH the character.

If Tekken 6 can have a balanced, 40+ roster, so can SF!

Not exactly a good comparison ... tekken don't have that amount of chars with crazy unrealistic (and awesome) moves

Yeah, I assumed a lot is one of my problem, but actually 95% of my friends played online so that's what led me to believe that most of people should have online. However, I don't see why you would point it out that I comment about stages an characters even it is irrelevant to what we were talking about online feature. Unless you got very defended about yourself, but no worries. I didn't meant to start any problem and I apologized if I did.

I apologized that I don't understand what you meant about my priorities, unless do you meant that I rather characters and stage over online?

That's my point, but it seem that I need to reword what I meant to say since I think I said it wrong. It apparent that people really want them to use GGPO. (Is that program that are being used in Blazblue?)

Good games man! We need to play again sometime.

People say there's no footsies in 3s? Craziness :lol

It's already been discussed that they're not using GGPO, and so have the reasons why.

It's not like the game needs GGPO for the game to be good online. I really don't know why we're still talking about it.

But she says it the same way, its the same voice actriss. The only problem is that her animation when she says it is lame. Her animations are the worst of the 3 characters, they should had tried to animate her clothe in every one of her moves, because she needs that!

Also her facial expressions aren't as moe as in SF3rd. =/

Oh, I know it's the same VA, but it's the difference of "Godansuki!!" and "GoDanSuKIIII!" nothing major, lol. I think SFIV overall has slightly toned down voicework compared to the 2d games, but I think that's a choice they consciencly made.

If I had my preference, appropiate characters would deliver all HOT BLOODED attacks with the same passion as Nobuyuki Hiyama doe as Joe Higashi and Batsu in TvC.

Her animations don't look bad to me, nothing stuck out as "Poor". She probably is the one that took the most hits from switch from SFIII 3s though. For example, I didn't see her classically PAINFUL "break neck" fall, and no way her pants are going to drape the shape of her legs when she collapses face-down.

Oh, and I can't imagine Makoto as "moe"... But that's a whole 'nother discussion!

Well Dudley is pretty footsie heavy. Probably moreso than any other character in the game. But compared to other SFs? The 3 series is not nearly as footsie centric.

On topic tho, do the SF3 characters break the game in terms of focus attacks as much as they seem to? Both Ibuki and Dudley seem like they are focus break city.

Other games say otherwise.

For 3D- VF5 shits on SF4.
2D- GGPO, Blazblue, HDR shit on SF4

there's a reason it isn't used for Sf4, but it's not "As good as it's gonna get"

Whether it's acceptable or not is up for debate (I think it is at 3 bars and above, definitely at 4.)

For the brief time I played VF5 when it debuted, I was floored by how amazing a game held up with a dude in the UK, and me on the West Coast. I dunno how the hell they did it...
