Cemu Thread: Emulating Wii U Games

Medium. Low does not do much compared to Med? I think the problem was I had it at 8K and something about cemuhook. Now mostly 30-40 in Kakariko, dipping to high 20's.

F34R: If fenceskip is making it better, then it's not working. I copied all elements of Cemuhook folder into the 1.9.1 folder, instead of only dbghelp.dll. Then it worked for me. Also make sure you don't run it at 8k or something.
As far as I know, I'm not running it at anything except "stock" right now.
Did you copy everything from CemuHook 5.3.2 into your main Cemu directory? If the graphics pack isn't work, it's likely a problem with CemuHook files.

Yeah, I copied everything over, and did it again just to make sure.

I don't remember this happening before, but every time I start it, it rebuilds the shadercache.

I'm stuck at 15.00fps. :(

With breathofthewow?
Framerate takes a hit with it enabled so I don't use it anymore.
Or is there another way?

To be honest i had no idea framerate would take a hit... i just assumed there would be a solution out there lol... Bummer. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers. I will try with BOTWow and let you know if there is a FPS hit with the new patch.

How are you launching your games? And where is your CEMU folder directory?

So if you cap it at 30, it'll be pretty much locked 30fps?

It looks like it actually improves performance, isn't it?
No, I'm not seeing any straight up improvements to FPS. If you were getting 25 fps in towns before, you're still getting 25 fps in towns now with the patch enabled. However, if you were getting the full 30 fps in the overworld before, now with the patch you'll most likely be getting over 30 fps in the overworld.

launching straight from Cemu > Load. Cemu is C:/Cemu and Zelda is in C:/Cemu/Games/BotW

Hmm... mate i have no idea why it isn't working :(

Guys, is the sound in BOTW mono in CEMU? Also, what upscale filter do you guys prefer, bilinear or bicubic? I'm on a native 4k display.

Asking again as it was ignored before.

I'm having a glitch in which the screen freezes but the game keeps going, but its impossible to play, its an issue that affects all of my games, for some it makes progress impossible.

I don't have a dedicated graphics card just yet and am using Intel, so I'm wondering if its just a me thing and I'm missing something or if its just something with the emulator.

I know Intel isn't officially supported.

I've tried looking for help or similar issues online but googling cemu+issue just brings results of Zelda, which I'm not playing.

I can't help you directly, but you might find someone who can in the Cemu Discord server.

The latest betas of MSI Afterburner (4.4.0) support showing any stat as a graph like this, in addition to just a value.

Ah thank you for the heads-up, I was still running 4.3.0. Handy to have that information to detect spikes and the new "modern" layout you can select looks great even if it's a bit buggy on my end that might be just a matter of my settings though.

I had a gaming laptop with a 780m and I7 4700mq, worked "fine", here I made a video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkxsDUsecf8

But I think the CPU is more important and your CPU is weak. Just try. Don't forget to activate gpufence and desactivate overlay in Nvidia settings, can be improve the perfomances.

Otherwise, any specialist to find the reason of this mystery ? In my previous laptop with a 780m, Nvidia was in line with Cemu and showed real fps. Also, in-game overlay had no impact on my experience as you can see in the video.

Now with my new laptop (1070+16gb+I7-7700hq) which is more powerful, nvidia in-game overlay decreases performances by a lot and shows fake fps as you can see in the pic

I don't see why. I like nvidia overlay because it's easy to record video

So I got a completely new problem, I asked about the other one on the Cemu discord, they were no help at all.

Intel downloaded new drivers today, I got to play a bit before that and it was fine, tried after the drivers were installed and the games are all glitched.

Like I boot up Mario 3D World and on the title screen some characters appear but the rest is all black, tried other games and the same thing happened, some would crash Cemu.

Promptly went back to the old drivers but the problem persisted, so I downloaded Cemu again, boot up a game and it works fine, play for a bit, close cemu, boot up the game again and its glitched.

So I deleted the cache boot up the game, works fine, apparently there was something wrong with that, so I delete all the caches, boot up the game again, play for a bit, stop, boot it up again and its glitched again.

I figured there was something wrong with the cache, but nope, so no Idea on what's wrong.

Once again, googling cemu+anything brings up only Zelda results so I can't find similar issues.

Recorded a performance test in Kakariko with my 970 and then in 4k with my 1080
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj_lM4MQeZQ

Of course there's no real GPU bottleneck in either so performance is pretty much identical

The patch doesnt work for me either. Tried every which way. Same FPS.

This caught me when I tried it initially but remember to disable any kind of 30fps cap you'd be using to play normally without the patch when trying this out if you haven't.

I dont think I have any cap. Vsync if off and my FPS hovers around 25-33, so it does go above 30 sometimes. This is the same FPS I was getting without the patch. (4770k stock, 1070). :(

I briefly OC'd my 7700k to 4.9 GHz and was only getting mid-40s outdoors and in cities in BOTW. I'll cap it at 30 with the framerate unlocked.

Capping to 30 with the FPS mod active seems to be the way to go for now. There are a few annoying bugs that kept me from just leaving it unlocked:

- Stamina regenerates too fast.
- Arrows arc down sooner.
- Music loops too quickly and plays over itself.

Relatively minor things but I'd rather just have even performance and fewer bugs.

For you.
I'm having a weird issue with the FPS mod.

I just can't seem to reach 60fps in shrines. It's always at around 45. 50 if i look at the ceiling. I'm using a 4690k overclocked to 4.3GHZ.

Mind you that my overworld performance is a confortable >40fps at most times.

What GPU do you have? Your results are super weird... I have a Ryzen 1700 @3.85 ghz and get 60 in shrines and 36-50 in the overwolrd, with dips to 28 when I fight. My GPU is a 1080ti. You should have better performance than me for sure.

The reason I ask is when I used the 8k graphics pack, the FPS would not budge above 45-48 FPS in shrines.

GTX 970, which should be able to handle 60fps on shrines even at 4k i'd think.

FWIW on my 970 back during the proof of concept patch, I wasn't able to hit 4k60 in shrines (but could natively).

Never thought I'd say this, but I wish it worked like frame rate smoothing in regular games where if you're not hitting 60, it caps you back to 30. The constant fluctuating up and down 35-45 has been pretty distracting to me.

Can you force double buffered V-sync through the Nvidia control panel to replicate this?

Hmm... I'm definitely not an expert, but I would test out the 1440p graphics pack and see whether you are getting 60fps in shrine. If yes, I would imagine, for whatever reason, your 970 is bottlenecked.

MUnited83

For you.
Yeah, seems using the 1440pack fixes it. 60 on shrines, and overworld going over 50 half of the time, not too shabby if we get some more optimization the 60fps dream seems achievable :)

I have no idea what to expect other than heartbreak. haha

going in with i72600k at 3.4ghz and 970...

you'll prob have to mess with overclocking. i had to get my i5-2500k to 4.2-4.3ghz to make most things work @ 1080p with a 670. MK8 is 60, even in splitscreen. BoTW is.. 30 sometimes with the newest fps patches? :(

Seems like devs are working on a global framerate unlock(all Wii U have a 60fps cap). So it's likely 90/120 fps Zelda is a possibility.

Can't seem to be able to get CEMU to recognize my Wii U pro controller to setup the inputs. It's paired with my computer via bluetooth through Wiiusoft Xinput Xbox 360 controller. Seems I have no controller under the Xinput option in CEMU. How do I get it there?

1.9.2 patreon news update, releases the 25th for patrons

Audio code rewritten from scratch, fixes mono audio, no audio, random looping, volumes, etc
Custom mlc01 path (yay for me who always needed to keep 2 cemu installs)
Other fixes

Looks like this will be the first preview video with little to no music

Is this the last issues that needed to be fixed on Bayo 2?

What is the best way to rip Wii U games? I remember the last method was via WiFi can you rip directly to a hard drive or via ethernet? Also is there a database that tracks proper rip data via MD5 or anything like that to verify a clean rip?

Is there a good guide for ripping Wii U games? I'm using the guide on the Cemu wiki and it's a little vague at some points.

Edit: Nevermind! Got Super Mario 3D World to run. This game looks amazing in 4K. For some reason when I play the Captain Toad part the blow command won't work. Any advice?
