So I love this time of year. Halloween always produces some great haunted houses and I wanted to see what were some of the better haunts out there....

Been to this one in the past. You actually have to sign a waiver before they let you in :lol

It's really good, but even it fell short of my expectations given all the hoopla they make you go through to get in.

I'll be going to ESP this month. They say the waivers are for in case the building falls apart and hits you, you can't sue. I always sign with a fake name, I think I was Frank Castle last time.

Bates Motel is outside of Philly and my favorite so far

Field of Screams is in Lancaster, like an hour from Philly. Never been there but wanna check it out this month

Jason's Woods, also in Lancaster was OK, not worth the hour trip for me, though

Shocktoberfest was the absolute worst, its more like rickety carnie shit, and the hay ride wasn't pulled by a tractor, it was pulled by a pick up truck going like 40 mph. Branches and shit would hit you in the face as he whipped it around corners. Worth it if you want the feeling of ACTUALLY being in danger

I live in Salem, MA and it always starts to get crazy around this time. Though after experiencing the haunted happening festivities for so long it has become kinda mundane to me.

I went to the Headless Horseman Haunted Hayride last weekend in Ulster Park, NY. That place is pretty cool. You start off on a hayride and then go through a house, a corn maze, a greenhouse, and then 2 more houses. It is pretty creepy and it kinda cool surrounded by apple orchards and corn fields. It gives you a real sense of being in the legend of sleepy hollow.

Is ESP more of a tour than a traditional haunted house?

From the video on the site, its more a haunted house at night, while during the day its more of a tour!

I might take the trip down to philly one weekend to check it out.

The ESP thing is a traditional haunted house thing at night, can't say what's up during the day.

They have the place done up really well outside as well as inside, though, so it's totally worth checking out if you've never seen it before. They do some pretty clever things in there.

Going to ESP this year. It was sold out last year. :(

I couldn't get in last year either. ESP definitely has the biggest budget out of the Philly area attractions, you can find free parking on the streets near it if you're lucky

Hah, I'm not sure how much of a believer I am in actual creepy places, but the first might be worth a drive someday, just to find out.

My mother went to cry baby bridge back in the day and a lot of strange shit happened. Also, there were white supremacists living there.

Fully interactive haunted house, they curse, touch, push, grab.
It's pretty badass.

I remember the first time I went when I was like 15, they bring you into the staging area pre-haunted house... where this priest throws up directly in your walk way.. and tells us (on megaphone) "your God has abondoned you, now walk through my fucking vomit, my fucking bile... you worthless pieces of shit... " So awesome.

I don't know of much here in LA, but I'm relatively new to the area. I keep hearing about Knotts "Scary" Farm, but I've never been.

I went to Disneyland around halloween last year and was kind of disappointed actually. The Haunted Mansion is way better without the Nightmare Before Christmas crap.

Detroit, where abandoned houses mysteriously catch on fire. The fire department doesn't even put them out because it's cheaper to let them burn.

I live in Salem, MA, so the whole month of October is a clusterfuck of Halloween awesomeness.

Does Salem have a website for all the events and happenings for October? I have always wanted to check it out, but I want to see what is up there first....

Last night they kicked off the month with the annual Halloween parade.. The highlight of that is always the decked out Ghostbusters car with the music blasting and the 4 Ghostbusters :lol

Busch Gardens Howl o' Scream for me. I went for the first time last year with a few of my buddies and all of their haunted houses and shows were AWESOME!

This year I'm taking my 16 and 12 year old brothers. It will be their first time so it's going to be awesome.

We're going Oct 17!

PS. I live in Florida and there are tons of haunted places. St. Augustine does ghost tours year round. That's only a 30 minute drive for me. I went there earlier this year for one of the tours and it was pretty fun.

There's a fake haunted house thing @ my town in the building where Circuit City used to be. My friends wanted to go there last year, so I went with them, but it kind of sucked. I came around a corner by myself and caught one of the "Ghoul's" texting.
