Torrenting is a great way to get large files if lots of other people are getting them as well. The great thing about a torrent is that - the more people who are downloading and sharing the burden of uploading, the more speed it will be downloaded with. It allows you to be a Good Samaritan while helping yourself but the true Good Samaritan will continue to seed even after getting his files. Please remember this if you torrent the podcasts and consider donating some bandwidth to help the cause. To torrent, all you need is a program and a link for the files. You've got the links now here is my recommended program:

One of the easiest ways to get a podcast is through a download directly from 1UP. This is great for single podcasts (fast and safe) however can be a hassle for large numbers of them. To aid in this, here is a Firefox addon recommended by Gaf's very own, SnowWolf:

If there's any way to preserve the 1up Show episodes, that would be awesome. Might be good to split those up by season.

I think this is a worthy cause, but the best one to keep are Retronauts, the other ones are great, but they're very topical and were best listened to when they came out. I'm not knocking them, just saying.

http://www.downthemall.net/ - You go to the podcast page, click the DTA icon and then set a folder and filter it to *.mp3.

Then it will sap every link from the page.

Not at all. As interesting as a circa 1990 podcast would be, a lot of time would be wasted giving terrible games more coverage than they deserve, due to hype, brands, marketing, etc. Hindsight is 20:20, and it serves well to frame the contents in a broader context than contemporary coverage can offer. As a result, the Retronauts podcasts are my favourites to go back to, as they're generally timeless.

I've got all the podcasts now, just working on getting the 1up Show episodes. On Season 2 atm.

I'm sure the files will be up for awhile though, if they even decide to take them down.

Huge. I think 1UP Yours clocks in around 5+ gigs. I can't even imagine how big 1UP Show is going to be for the people who are getting all those.

Am I missing something stupid on downloading the 1up Show? I honestly never watched it, but on the 1up show pages I'm only seeing links to watch/stream them, I'm not finding any links to download.

Edit: found it, duh. I don't think there's any way to get to the download link without going to each individual page though, so DTA's no help for this one :(

I couldn't download episodes from the old seasons (the ones with Che and Jane). Does anybody know where I can get those? I will go over some old hard drives to see if I have backups of those.

We need a collaberated google spreadsheet or wiki page people and edit the show infos on.

For example, the spreadsheet with hosts; guest; game discussed (time stamp); special (like 5 minute warner topics) etc would be really useful. I have been thinking about something like it ever since Brodeo went off air.

in my collection of sketches and notes about what I wanted to do with the podcast department, a listener-wiki show note system was up there in priority.

Does anyone still have the "lost episode" of the brodeo? It was the only remaining 30 minutes or so of an episode that was completely lost due to some technical glitch. However one of the 1up staff posted it on neogaf as an unofficial release.

Every last minute of brodeo recordings has to be treated as a highly scarce and valuable commodity. :)
