CLANNAD, a "legendary" hentai-adv game is going to be released for the Xbox 360 in 2008.

The battle for the crown of the next-gen PC-to-console hentai adventures has officially started. :lol

Last gen, Dreamcast was the king until the death of the console, then this genre went to PS2.

I wonder if this is the real deal or another "watered down for consoles" hentai visual novel.

Whether or not this is a good thing, the Japanese seem to be mildly interested in this news, judging from the reactions in 2chan.

Because he's correct, except for the eroge part. CLANNAD should be considered as an eroge, even though it's more an puppy love-adv game.

I don't get it why they are willing to put it on 360 which is doing badly in Japan. AFAIK this kind of games are only popular in Japan and even the audience there are not that huge.

It would make more sense if this were a PSP game, since they already did a Kanon remake on PSP.

Pretty much, the genre goes where the otakus are.

Is it though? From icecream's response it seems like it's not, but when I look at the scan I'd assume otherwise. Can someone give a description of what this actually is?

I've heard the term thrown around before -- is it the name for the "dating sim" genre? Aren't those games on the DS as well?

Clannad isn't. There has been no 18+ release, at least to my knowledge.
It's just your typical visual novel affair though. You make a choice every now and then, otherwise you just listen/read to the story (which is a really nice drama). Depending on those choices though, you get the different endings.

So when the PS2 got tons of sanitized PC hentai games, did people also make bait threads about it?

I didn't think so.

Though CLANNAD is relatively popular (amongst bishoujo game fans anyway) I seriously doubt it's gonna push 360s in Japan. Though Fate Stay Night PS2 did manage to crack Media Create top ten if I remember correctly.

If I remember correctly it literally means 1) pervert 2) perverted 3) metamorphosis (as a caterpillar into a butterfly) though I think the word "henshin" is more commonly used for that.

I love KEY titles, especially Kanon (better than Air, yeah) but never played CLANNAD, will watch the movie and TV show though... heh, i can't see the title being disappointing for me.

Won't get this game though.. unless it will have full blown (un)censored hardcore hentai!
