There have been rumors and stories for years but now a huge exposé by The New York Times has shared the stories of five woman who describe a disturbing pattern of inappropriate sexual behavior, namely masturbating in front of them.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile...ts/television/louis-ck-sexual-misconduct.html

In one of his recorded stand-up bits, he mentions wanting to cum in a guy's face as a confrontational move. It was...weird. Now, it's starting to make more sense.

The thing that's grossing me out is thinking back on how much he mimed jerking off in his stand-up. It takes on a whole new level of meaning now. It's also fucking sick.

Yeah, this was one of those moments. Trying not to think about it. This makes me so sad because he makes...made...me laugh harder than just about anyone else.

The people involved with this movie have to be the dumbest humans in the movie industry. Shelve it and do some early damage control. Instead they just sat there and got shit on until a couple hours before the premiere...

If a bunch of assholes on a message board can read the room better than you, find a new career.

After the Weinstein stuff I was wondering if these weird wanking stories would come out again.

CK is the first guy I thought about when reading that potted plant story

Porn logic doesn’t work in the real world , what did you think would happen?

You start jerking it in front of random women and they will suddenly feel the urge to do it back?

I don't know, whacking it over the phone with someone is weird but not career ruining weird. Kinda seems like the accusers are grasping at straws, I wouldn't call this abuse unless the "victim" was underage or something like that.

It even says she declined when he asked to masturbate in front of her. So you can't even ask?

Normal humans don't do these things bro. Like... no.

-.-

Well....

OK let me try this approach: is this the society you want? Where guys are asking people if they can masturbate in front of them, whenever the mood strikes them?

And then, I suppose, MASTURBATING in public?

Well that's a good way to summarily dismiss something you don't agree with. He didn't rape them, didn't force himself on them. The girl could have hung up at any point. How was the situation out of her control?

It's repeat behavior that's the problem. One of these stories alone might not be career ruining, but as a combined package it's pretty damning. Which is a shame because I consider him one of the best filmmakers working today.

I really don't like this guy but I also don't like how he's getting dogpiled for a kink. I'm sure there are actors who are known for foot fetishes and soliciting foot pics and shit like that.

Ok do you have a mother /sister/aunt/gf/wife/niece/female cousin/daughter

Imagine this situation but with them as the females in this story.
Not so good now is it ?

I think you should be able to ask the question certainly

It's weird, but it's not like he came to my house and jacked off while staring at them. You can hang up a phone call instantaneously and at will and I think my sister/mother are perfectly capable of doing so

Another one. Really feel awful for the victims.

With all these stories coming out day after day, I wonder what people here think the punishments should be. Obviously it's a case by case basis, but let's take Louis CK for example(assuming the allegations are true).

Do you feel he should have a chance to rebuild his reputation and do good or should he be a perma-outcast for the effed up things he allegedly did.

Part of the problem that you're apparently ignoring here is the power Louis C.K. has in the situation. If you're a comic trying to make it big, C.K. can help ensure that. He could also theoretically punish them if they don't act 'correctly'. So while the women could hang up, that might have nasty ramifications for their career. This isn't a bad or unwanted pass among friends (gulp), they aren't equals.

The article specifically states just this. Some of the women suggest their careers have been hurt because they didn't go along with it.

There's two elements that make this slightly less awful than it could be in my eyes. One, there's the suggestion this happened a decade+ ago. That's by no means an excuse for his behavior, but if he did rehabilitate himself then I'm more forgiving. (As a rule I'm not a believer in vengeance being the same thing as justice.) He also apparently tried to apologize for the behavior.

It's still really lousy behavior, but this is definitely not on the level of a Weinstein or Spacey and I'm at least theoretically open to acceptance of some sort.

This is assuming another shoe isn't going to be dropping tomorrow, which might be a bad assumption...

Yeah, it's kinda hard to say right now until more info comes out. And again, it's gotta be a case by case basis. For example, Kevin Spacey should be toast. Dude did it for years and if allegations are true, still has been doing this very recently.

But I do think for certain incidents that are considered less severe, especially ones that happened years and years ago, they shouldn't get away scot-free, but I also don't think their entire careers and livelihoods should be destroyed for the rest of time either. The example I point to is Peyton Manning. His trainer said back in 1999 he stuck his penis in her face in a locker room(or maybe it was on her leg, I forget) and he claims he only mooned her. Since then by all accounts he's never had another incident, has been a very respected member of society, great in the community, contributor to many charities, etc. Should all his accomplishments be destroyed because of that incident? No one else's opinion matters as much as the victim, but I do believe people should be able to rebuild their image in some instances and do good for society.

Remains to be seen where Louis CK stands in the spectrum of the offenders and if more allegations come to light also.

In 2015, a few months before the now-defunct website Defamer circulated rumors of Louis C.K.’s alleged sexual misconduct, Ms. Corry also received an email from Louis C.K., which was obtained by The Times, saying he owed her a “very very very late apology.” When he phoned her, he said he was sorry for shoving her in a bathroom. Ms. Corry replied that he had never done that, but had instead asked to masturbate in front of her. Responding in a shaky voice, he acknowledged it and said, “I used to misread people back then,” she recalled.

The call confounded her, Ms. Corry said: not only had he misremembered the incident, which made her think there were other moments of misconduct, he also implied she had done something to invite his behavior. “It is unfair he’s put me or anyone else in this position,” Ms. Corry said.

Damn...He did this to many women. For sure

I don't know what the catalyst is, Pill Cosby case or Harvey Weinstein. All those famous guys right now who has done some creepy/sexual harassment is probably sweating because this ain't gonna stop.

why do you keep talking about just the phone call? He did this in person to several women

Yes using ones power like that is indeed fucked up and is blackmail. but then they should have reported it as such instead of biting the bullet to not destroy their careers. if indeed there was a crime then they should have reported it plain and simple no matter the effect on their careers, instead of effectively protecting an abuser from police and letting it continue for until they decide its time to spill

obviously its the victims fault

No offense but it's not the easiest thing in the world to report sexual misconduct. Life is not law and order when you talk to police and greviences are taken seriously.

Both men and women are hesitant to come out with these accounts because sexual harassment and assault aren't taken seriously.

When we have others coming forward people feel empowered, that's why we see new stories almost daily now. Sexual harassment is very common, and people would just have to ask female friends or relatives to understand.

If these allegations are true and he did strip down nude to masturbate, I don't know how anyone can hand wave it with "at least he asked". That's sexual misconduct.

Money, fame, power.

Those are the catalysts. South Park had a great episode on this regarding Tiger Woods.

Agreed.

You also don't want people to feel they have no way forward when they make terrible mistakes, because then there's a strong encouragement for them to cover up these crimes in any way they can and that can just lead to worse problems. There's no evidence that the actual death penalty reduces crime, and some sort of social death penalty is likely going to follow that pattern. People don't sit around and make logical long-term decisions when they do shit like this, that's not the way brains even can work. (Decisions get made by the brain before the logic centers are even consulted.) So at least in less severe cases you need for rehabilitation to be an option.

Again, not sure if that's going to be the case here, but it's at least possible.

Asking about it while hanging out with someone flirting with you in private is one thing (one of episodes was like that, I think), but in some cases he was asking (and getting what he wanted) people who were his subordinates and in situations that didn't hint at 'lets get closer".

I’ve never found him particularly funny, he’s ok. In the case of accusations of this nature, I try not to make any judgement about it until there is actual proof, but certainly if there is multiple people coming forward it doesn’t look good. Would have no problem believing it at all.

You need proof or you have no problem believing it you can't have both lol. Also there's no proof comming it's their word against his or their word against his silence depending on how he plays it.
